I disagree with you on many counts Tapion, but this issue I simply cannot ignore. I can't see how it is possible for a person to prefer Two Towers to Return of the King Simple. RotK had a naff ending. Way too long. But my main reason is for the fighting. In TTT the fighting was well done. They actually fought. And Helms Deep was amazing. But on RotK the fighting was so badly done. As if they had gotten bored of spending time doing the choreographing and were just rushing it. Watch RotK again and pay careful attention in the battles. One side will just sweep through annihilating the other side. They won't fight, just die.

I take it by this you are reffering to the Rohirrim charge? That was the best part! I can't even begin to describe how amazing I found that bit! ;D It didn't look like they were fighting because the orcs were just getting trampled by the horses and skewered by the spears. You read the book, that's how it's meant to be!

No, actually I am referring to that battle at night in the ruined city, Osgiliath isn't it? Awful, awful... Yes, I have read the book. I do know how it is meant to be. And the fighting in Minas Tirith is bad as well. And then, when things are just starting to look good, those mutha-f**king ghosts turn up and ruin everything!

The trilogy as a whole was great. You just have to look past the no fighting sequences...

Did I read that as "The trilogy is better when you don't pay attention to the talking parts and only to the fighting parts" Or the opposite?
If it was the former, I'm going to commit 3 murders tonight.

^Meaning, instead of worrying about there being no fighting in certain scenes, just think about it as a drama. That is what an epic is- it isn't just about fighting. It is a story- not some gang or war movie. There will be parts when all is calm. And that is why I like it.

I do like my calm, thats the point. When a film is said to have amazing battles I expect amazing battles. Not some half-arsed affair. Instead we are left with entertaining calm, boring fights and too many shots of Frodo staring mournfully at the camera.

That's one point I'll agree on. The parts with Aragorn and co. were far more exciting

Yeah, I always found it kinda of a chore to watch the Frodo scenes. Like you had to earn the Aragorn scenes or something. ;D
