Isn't Spacey kinda old? Compared to Routh that is. Isn't Lex only a few years older than Clark? But putting aside the age issue, I think Spacey will do a good job. He's a great actor and is good at playing the villain. I still can't wait to hear who they're gonna pick for Lois Lane. And Parry White. The guy who played Parry White in that one episode of Smallville would be a good Parry White in my opinion... Gene Hackman was older than Christopher reeves in the original superman movie (Chris was only 24) So I think it's good casting.

I got an update on this film that comes from superman-v.com: "After several screentests WB look like they have found their Lois Lane. Reliable sources inform us that Kate Bosworth has won the role of Daily Planet's feisty yet incident prone reporter. After many young actresses screentested alongside Bradon Routh - with Elisha Cuthbert, Claire Danes and Keri Russell all believed to have come close it was Bosworth who Singer decided on. Kate who recently starred in Beyond The Sea now joins an impressive looking cast believed to be Shaun Ashmore as Jimmy Olsen, Spacey as Lex Luthor and Brandon Routh as Superman. Kate is an excellent choice for Lois and our mock up gives you a glimpse of what she could look like as Miss Lane. We have heard rumours of a cast get together in January and a possible photo shoot to go with an announcement of the full cast but take that with a pinch of supersalt. There have also been some more mumurings ofJude Law joining the cast with General Zod and John 'Metallo' Corben mentioned as possible roles. Again take a rather large pinch on that one. Some suit details are also leaking through - expect to see some more darker colours for the costume and a 3D Superman symbol." Note: The mock up of Kate as lois comes from superman-v.com , not me.

To the rumors from before about Kevin Spacey and Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane and Lex Luthor (Spacey as Luthor and Bosworth as Lois, of course) have been confirmed. (Variety)

I'm glad this movie is finnaly getting moving. And I'm really glad it's singer at the helm and not McG...that would have been horrible... *shudders* Good casting choices as far as I'm concerned.

So Hugh Laurie isn't really a household name on this side of the pond (we're big fans of British sketch show A Bit of Fry & Laurie, in which he co-starred with Stephen Fry), but James Marsden kind of is. Remember? Cyclops in X-Men? Well, both Laurie and Marsden have signed on to this flick. Marsden will play Lois Lane's love interest, and Laurie will play Perry White, the editor of The Daily Planet. (The Hollywood Reporter)

New update ;D A few new rumors are circulating faster than a speeding bullet: Michael Gambon may co-star as Jor-El, Supe's pop, and a supposed synopsis for the film has hit the Web. If it's true, (spoiler alert) the Man of Steel will be killed by Lex Luthor, who has teamed with "a demonic brainiac from Krypton." Then, he's brought back to life and regains his powers. Say it with us: LAME. (Film Force)
new confirmation on above post:
Eva Marie Saint will be playing the role of Martha Kent, Clark's adoptive mom. (The Hollywood Reporter)

It's a summary of the superman lives Tim Burton superman movie, NOT this movie, and Michael Gambon is not going to be jor-el. However they have cast Kal Penn (thats right, Kumar) to be an henchmen of lex luthor named stanford whose a computer genious. www.superman-v.com for more details on the superman movie.

^HAH! KUMAR!!!! Who would have thought of that? Lets just hope that John Cho isn't involved, lol. Anyway, the casting looks better than I could have hoped for. I just hope the script, characters, and sfx is up to par....

Is this movie acctually going to slip into the old continuity of Superman films but after the 2 film?? 'Cause hope it doesn't... It would be a mess IMO What they are doing for this film is this: They are using superman one and two as a vauge backstory for this movie, so they are kinda sorta slipping into old continuity but not to the point where you would have to see the first two movies recently to go and see this one. Bryan Singer and crew are just doing that so they can tell a new superman story rather than having to re-tell the orgin and go though all that over again when there is plenty of stuff on the orgin already out there.

I think that I am going to boycott seeing Superman. I (and a few family members and friends) are getting really stressed out with what this movie is taking away from one of our favorite movies (remember- X Men?)...

I (and a few family members and friends) are getting really stressed out with what this movie is taking away from one of our favorite movies (remember- X Men?)... You mean Bryan Singer and James Marsden?...That doesn't really bother me actually. I'm excited to see what a new director can do with xmen. and cyclops?...well...I can get over that.
