As many of you know, or will be pleased to know. Chemistry student Jason Peter "Jay" Garrick is an aspiring athlete, and when he's exposed to chemical fumes, he's suddenly endowed with the ability to move at incredible speeds.
TV actor Jensen Ackles will cackle if he gets to tackle the starring role in this superhero flick. Should the movie feature jackals and grackles, it will raise our hackles. All right, that's enough — we'll step away from the rhyming dictionary. No one has to get hurt here. (movies.com)

I wonder which flash this movie will actually be about. Because David Goyer (the writer/director of this movie) has said many times he wants wally west (the third person to be the flash) but I'm confused by all these websites talking about jay garrick (flash number one).

Check this out guys!
Reynolds Says He Would be The Flash Source: FilmRoach March 20, 2005
'FilmRoach' tells us that The Amityville Horror and Blade: Trinity star Ryan Reynolds said today in Los Angeles that he will star as The Flash if the project goes ahead.
Not only did he say he would love to play Deadpool, but he confirmed that he had a meeting the previous night with David Goyer, and if Warner Bros. green lights his script, he said, "I am the Flash."
Blade: Trinity writer/director and Batman Begins writer David Goyer has committed to write, produce and direct the feature adaptation of DC Comics' The Flash.
Created by Gardner Fox and Harry Lampert, the Flash first appeared in DC Comics late in 1939. He's the alter ego of chemistry student Jason Peter "Jay" Garrick, an aspiring athlete whose exposure to heavy water fumes gives him the ability to move at incredible speeds.

wait heavy water fumes?? what the hell is that about.
can they keep the good old flash suit instead of that thing that makes him look like that guy from hercules with the wings on his head, honestly a blonde guy running around in red elf shoes, spandex trousers, a red shirt and a tin can on his head is not what i wanna see.
i thought wally west was in a lab accident, why do they change the d*mn names of these people, i picked up a flash comic once and it shocked me when i read the part that tells you what series it is and it said "SERIES 22" i mean what the hell, this comic was from like 1973 and its already made 21 other series.
by the way, the flash has some of the corniest villains you'll ever see, there just pathetic, but the newer flash should be better.
i prefer wally west it sounds cooler and whats this whole jason peter garrick thing about.

Not only do I agree with you that wally west would make for a better movie flash, but Writer/director David Goyer does as well. He has said in numerous interviews that he wants to do a wally west flash story. And It was announced at WizardWorld in LA that if the movie gets greenlit then Ryan Renyolds will be playing the part of the flash. So I think it's safe to say that we'll probably be seeing wally west.

wait a second are we talkin about the original flash from the JSA, cause i think we are. here's what he looks like: and then here's wally west, the flash we know today from the JLA: now when i said i wanted a flash movie to come out, i was hoping that it would be on the flash from the JLA. i personally don't like the original flash though from the JSA, but i'll still probably go see the movie. i just hope that they make a movie out of the JLA flash real soon

Okay, I'm gonna clear up the Jay Garrick Rumors: I'm pretty sure the movie IS going to be the JLA flash. Websites started reporting that the plot would be about Jay Garrick after Superherohype gave an orgin of every single man to be the flash in the comic. People misinterpreted the Jay Garrick part of the article, and assumed that they ment the movie would be about him, when David Goyer, the writer and director of the movie, said that he wanted to use Wally West, and that he wanted to cast Ryan Renolds as the flash. And since Ryan Renolds announced at Wizard World in L.A. that he has been cast as the flash (Or in his exact words :"Once they greenlight the script then I am the flash."), I'm guessing that this movie will be about Wally West, NOT Jay Garrick. Or maybe I'm completly wrong. It's happened before....
