A virus has been done before. I think sticking with the original plot gives the story more intrigue. I would really like to see a better director, as I feel this movie would have so much potential to be a box office smash if done right. As a matter of fact, most VG have a great potential to be good movies, but they are almost always done wrong except for a select few.

yeah, i think it would be better if they keep the original story...if it remains with the virus plot it will just look like resident evil...

With Hell invading, I think that gives the movie a different hook than just a bad virus.

they are using the "DOOM" name to make ppl go to see it than screw them outta there money, but they are using the virus thing becuase RE made money with that plot.
i think that they should just change the name but than everyone will think its a ripoff of RE which it will be but than change ppls outlook on the "DOOM" series

I haven't played the games either. doom 3 was a great game, fantastic graphics and excellent gameplay, but it missed something...the atmosphere. i mean after a while it got stereotypical and i was bored with it and i was wondering when it will finish...and i don't want that to happen to the movie!!!

^So far, it seems that the next few years are going to be filled with videogames turned movies. Most of them probably won't live up to the game, but we'll just have to wait and see..
