i dont get how this movie could be directed by disney.
its just not possible for disney to make something this funny and this exciting, at least thats what i thought until i saw the incredibles.
anyway i cant wait for the next movie to come out.
its just so hard to believe that this movie was based on a disney ride.

First of all, it wasn't directed by Disney. Disney owns the name and the ride. They didn't have much to do with this movie except attaching their name to it...

Corrected you there ^That means, that I'll have to wait for Elizabeth... oh, wait!- JACK SPARROW! Don't you boys think dirty thoughts about me. I will smack you. I am psychic... This one will be all about Keith Richards... My pops can't believe it... This is what I said, and I didn't need correcting. I was refering to the fact that Keith Richards will be in this movie. He will be playing Jack Sparrow's father. My dad couldn't believe it.

Here's more info.
The first official details on the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels have been leaked by none other than Disney studio Chairman johnson Cook.
During a recent investor conference (audio available on Disney's corporate website) Cook revealed that the title for the second film will be Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. The subtitle is lifted from the lines of a pirates' song in Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island ("Fifteen men on the Dead Man's Chest/Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!").
Cook laid out the storyline for the sequel saying, "This time around, Johnny [Depp] returns as Captain Jack Sparrow and is caught in yet another tangled web of supernatural intrigue. It turns out, Captain Jack owes a blood debt to the legendary Davey Jones, ruler of the ocean depths and captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman. If Jack can't figure a crafty way out of this one, he'll be cursed to an afterlife of eternal servitude and d*mnation. And as if that weren't enough, Captain Jack's problems throw a huge wrench into the wedding plans of the blissful Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, who quickly find themselves thrust into Jack's misadventures."
Disney will shoot both sequels back-to-back in Los Angeles and the Caribbean starting this March. The first sequel will sail into theaters in summer 2006 with the third film in the series opening in summer '07.
Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom will all be returning for more high-seas adventure.
They'll be joined by actor Stellan Skarsgard as Bootstrap Bill and Naomie Harris as "a gypsy queen." The latter could be the role that Salma Hayek had been rumored for.
Other rumored thesps include Geoffrey Rush reprising his role as Barbossa, Keith Richards as Jack Sparrow's father, and Chow Yun Fat as 15th century Chinese pirate Cheung Po Tsai.
