Quite Frankly I was a metallica freak.not anymore.I still love their old stuff but it seems since the black album they have like writer's block or something.St.anger was definely not their finest hour.

Yeah, It's pretty obvious that their old stuff was the best. But some of the songs from the Load albums were great. Others sucked. But songs like Bleeding Me, Outlaw Torn, Low Man's Lyric, etc. were very deep songs and had some had a very epic feeling. Great music. I know they weren't metal songs, and that they weren't very hardcore, but that doesn't make them bad, just different from what they used to be.
But still, others songs were pretty bad IMO. And St. Anger started off with some acceptable music. Frantic didn't sound that bad to me when I heard it on MTVIcon, but it was the d*mn production that made the album stink. That and the lyrics that didn't match the music at all and were nothing close to the greatness of old Metallica's lyrics. Another problem was the lack of melody in nearly all songs and the repetition of riffs through all songs. But I still think they can do better, they hadn't been writing together or on the studio for a long time, and they were having a lot of internal problems. I think they will do a better album in the future, now that Robert Trujillo will be with them during the writing and recording process.

Enter Sandman (1991) For whom the Bell Tolls (1985) wherever I may roam (1991) Saint Anger (2003) I don't really think any song off st. anger was worth the jizz off my bedspread, but I could listen to every other album straight through. They have great staying power where as many bands now adays lack.

you know, some songs in St Anger could have been better. I mean, some songs had really good riffs, but they messed it up with the production and the STUPID lyrics. I mean, "Frantic tic tic tic toc", what the hell? "I'm madly in anger with you"? Now that's really dissapointing coming from Metallica. Still, I do not hate them for that album, I know they can do better. I take into account that they did not have the whole band together to write St. Anger. My five favorite songs are: 1-Fade to Black 2-Master of Puppets 3-Damage Inc. (The bass intro man, the bass intro) 4-One 5-Creeping Death My five favorite videos from them are: 1-The Memory Remains 2-One 3-Turn the Page 4-Whiskey in the Jar 5-Until it Sleeps

This band is o.k in my book Ok? only Ok? Oh well, this band is the thing for me. Just think about it, they reached top 40 in the charts without a single song being played on the radio, without making a sinle video or anything of that sort. The just sold millions of albums because of their music and not because of the looks or because of advertisment. Their concerts was all the advertisement they had, people listening to the music, liking it, and then running to buy the album. They didn't wear make up or anything like that. They were just 4 "normal" dudes with broken jeans that played faster, louder, and better than any other metal band out there. And they're still the best metal (or almost metal nowadays) out there. That's why they are more than o.k. for me.
