Lies...who knows? It might be done next year with his "Darts" theme. In most of the recent photoshoots he's just been in flowered shirts and suits, you know, nothing too fancy...but this recent Arena37 is HELLA cool. And I think he's showing a peek of the Darts theme with it.. Hmm, I wonder if Tapion might like this. The "Act" from the Photoshoot was called Punk. There was also Japunk...and Gackt is Jesus... Nah, it was called "Gothic Punk". I'm never going to say that again Anyways:

Oh, and that clip I put up, the first half is Gackt, then there's some other artists, and towards the end Gackt performs. So you can skip about a 4th or so of it. I just realized this myself woops.

I have the pleasure to be the first forum member who has listened to Gackt's new album, "Love Letter", completely. Well, I found out about Gackt because of Malice Mizer, attracted by their rock/orchestral sound. The image I had of Gackt was that of a gothic rocker. I suppose that when Gackt went solo, and began to turn poppish, a lot of people feared he would suck...he didn't. Some others would fear that he would sometime make an album full of Love Ballads that would drag him away from his gothic image that he became known for. That album is now a reality on Love Letter...and there's no reason to fear listening to it... Every single track is like the definition of a love ballad...with Gackt's known orchestral sound, it makes the songs seem very calm, very peaceful, but most of all, very lovely. It's definitely hard to create so many deep love songs unless you've been recently broken hearted or something like that. So, props to Gackt for that (Gackt probably feels broken hearted the whole time). Even though "Etude" had been written 14 years ago...this was the right album to (re)release it. I still need to read the translations for the lyrics...but after two listens, I can tell you that this album is yelling for attention. I don't like to give ratings, but just for you to know what this album is worth, I'll create my own rating symbolism... ;D=5 =4 =3 =2 =1 =piece of cacaThis album gets a IMO

Wow. I love the way you worded that review. Even though it's sorta short. Nice! Seriously, though, I can't stop listening to "Sakurasou." What a pretty song. Love Letter Translations (Click me!)

I have just read the translations... Now, I feel like this deserves a ;D instead of a There's no way to explain why...and there's no way to explain the meanings of the songs, because the meanings are made very clear by Gackt. "now, don't cry because I loved you more than anyone if we ever meet again somewhere we should meet with a smile"...that's comes from the first song of the album, Seiippai no sayonara (With Everything I Have, Goodbye). Lyrics like that are what makes a love song be a love song...but don't just pay attention to the lyrics...listen to the music along with it and you'll get the full effect. Now, take for example the lyrics from Sakurasou (Primrose), the probably oddest, but not in a bad way, song in the album. "Closing my eyes in the sunlight I gave you a soft kiss you were a flower more beautiful than any other" So...this album, deserves even more attention than what I tried to give it at first...it cleared its objective...

Gackt totally gives me a smiling feeling on this album And tons of You do know that...Gackt could also be talking about a man? I'm gonna go listen to Sakurasou for the 80th time.. This definately isn't his best album, no; but it is incredibly heartfelt and it IS Gackt at his purest.

Hmmm... funny story last Thursday in history class. I had my assignment binder out, which contains a picure of Mana I slipped in the front sleeve. I unknowingly placed the binder in the open, the teacher began his routine check of homework by going from desk to desk. When he got to me he saw my binder, "Wow...who's the pretty lady?" he asked. I began to explain to him the truth that he wasn't exactly a lady, when the kid next to me shouts "She's hot as hell!" and the next thing I know my binder is getting passed around and critiqued while I'm still trying to say Mana is a guy. When finally, one girl says...this is a guy. After pointing out several points to sway everyone's belief, they all turn to me and say how come you didn't tell us, along with being called a "FREAK!". Ahh...I love the ignorance of the masses, it makes for good comedy.

I remember showing some pictures of Mana to a fellow friend of mine, and he wasn't all crazed about it and showing it to friends or anything. His eyes just sort of got big and he just laughed. But he does like Gackt and Klaha. and he LOVES Kami since he's a percussionist. Oh, woops, this isn't the Malice Mizer thread is it. Get back to your posts, ACHTUNG! *shrugs*

One kid that I absolutely cannot stand said "Are you gay or something?" and my response was "Are you interested?" which totally pissed him off. I thought the event was pretty funny, I got a good laugh at alot of the guys face after they realized they had been idling a man. Good stuff... now I'm off to listen to Gackt's Emu for my Dear and Mizer's Beast of Blood for the millionth time today. Good Night!

His latest album is pretty good. I think the only problem I had with it was that it didn't contain a lot of variety. But that was to be expected, since it is called "Love Letter," and there are only so many ways one can make a love song while still making it sound fresh (with mostly acoustics no less). It might be a lil too uh..."mushy" for me to give this a lot of general replay, but it's still a good album nonetheless. With Rjxsapri's rating system I give this: " " because it is what it is, and it's pretty good.

I'm buying a copy for my Grandma as a gift y00t. Supposedly Gackt is going on this other show, and the other guy that'll be on is like...a jazz musician? flamenco? hell, i don't remember...anyways, when they have more than one guest on, supposedly they team the musicians up to do a duet or whatever. Gackt...singing jazz. Now THAT I would like to see. It's not a very popular show, so I'm not sure anyone will record it...but we'll hear about it, most likely. Ah, what else...Gackt has a new hairstyle now. It's all slicked back. Reminds me of Elvis. Interesting. Anyways, I gave Chuck Berry a listen, Socky, and I started dancing as soon as I heard a song ;D Then again, my dancing is your seizure...
