Tapion, don't be that guy who hates all bands that get recognition. That just annoys the hell out of me when people always say they hate a band because they get popular. If their sound is still the way the band likes or intended it to be from the start, then whats the problem. Most of that underground crap doesn't get recognition for a reason, its crap.... I don't hate them for recognition. I hate them because they are sell-outs. Besides, they only have recognition in one scene. I suppose mainstream is the wrong word to use, I'll admit that. Because on the Punk scene DPKM would be mainstream. But they stay true to the music. Not like some bands that give it all up for the fame. Most underground bands don't get recognition because they are too busy doing it for the music.

You may not speak about the goddess in that manner . I don't think that most underground bands are crap. Some of them are, but some of them simply don't get recognition because they simply don't have what the mainstream audience want. Let's face it, everyone now judges artists for it's image rather than the actual music, that's why rap is now being so popular, coz most of it is music that people put in a party and they show videos with a bunch of chicks with monumental butts. BTW, don't forget about Metallica; they started out with nothing, weren't touched by the radio for 8 years, and still were able to be top 40 in the charts.

Trowa, you just said it. It's the riffs more than anything else that defines what kind of music a band plays.

And the manner in which the instrument is played, the style of singing and the general conduct of the band. Riffs alone do not define a band.

Fair enough. But I'll always think of them as nu - metal.

Lost Profits are good, They are welsh so that makes them Uber. I went to see them when they were starting out and they had a hell of a laugh on the stage. They done a cover a britney spears song (lol) and rocked it up for a laugh. Sad to say most of the local bands coming up nowadays are just the same old thing. They just copy the tryed method of making music. Nothing is different. But it only takes one to brake the mold ;D

Three cheers for the Welsh! Lostprophets are the only British rock band (apart from Muse) that I really like.
