basically heres how it is, you can leave when your in 4rth year at my school by that time you should be at least 15 but your 16th birthday must be before a certain date, then you can either go off to college or find work, you can leave any time you want within the next two years of school and it doesnt matter when.
by the way, the over 18 thing is just for americans (i love the uk)
and your right, in america there is no such thing as a university, they are all just colleges, actually i stand corrected, i think theres a CAL U, calafornia Uni so i guess i'm wrong but all schools in america are considered college.
you know i wish i lived in america cause if what i see in movies and animations is correct then all middle school girls are supposed to be hot and some of the boys are bigger, although when i was a kid i was disilusioned by the characters of recess and how there all 6ft tall when there supposed to be 10 years old.
did you know recess is mainly used in the courtroom as a break, i never knew this before i saw it somewhere with someone saying "we will take a short recess and then return" or something like that.
i cant wait to start college

I dont think there is any difference in the states with colleges and university's, but here in Canada ( that name makes me so proud, *tear drop's*) the main difference is that University is more theoretical ( book smarts), and college is more hands on ( street smarts). Plus, University's are more expensive, and you need higher grades to get in. So the courses university offers would be science, writing, art, history, law, etc. While college is technology, business, geology, etc.
I applied for the colleges of my choice a short while ago, they should be replying some time in the spring. I applied for business administration, which is business in general. I'd prefer Ottawa, but I'll deal with it if I dont get in.
