Im sure all of you CB fans have seen the last episode where spike "dies" but I dont really know they kind of left an opening for a sequel because if you look back Spike got hurt be didnt suffer any real fatal injuries. He got way more messed up in that fight with that fat guy who was scared of cats anyway at the end Spike goes Bang! and falls and we all think he is dead but their were alot of people around who could have brought him to the hospital, so their's that part explained if they ever make a sequel. Well anyways I dont think spike really died I just think the creator wanted to end it but wanted to leave a opening for a sequel if he ever wants to do the project agian.

Spike got hurt be didnt suffer any real fatal injuries. He was shot, stabbed, and his belly was cut open as he shot Vicious. His leg was also cut on a major artery during the fight. When he collapsed, he was surrounded by enemies. I don't think that they took him to a hospital. I don't think he survived. It is said that to make a powerfull ending and a perfect character he/she should die at the end of the story. The game that comes out this fall will tell if he died as well as explaining all of the characters' pasts; so we will know for sure then.

Ok, here's a few facts:
A) Spike was not necessarily surrounded by 'enemies' at the end of the show. The Red Dragon ran just as any other syndicate. Kill the leader and you're the new leader.
B) The Video game will not necessarily answer this question. It will most likely just take a time-table inside the series.
C) In a recent AnimeInsider interview with Producer Masahiko Minami and character designer Toshihiro Kawamoto here were their answers to the question "can you guys settle the debate for our readers - Did Spike die at the end of episode 26?" Minami: I think everyone who saw the ending is correct, in his or her own way. He might have died, or maybe he's just tired from the battle and simply sleeping. When the star disappeared, it might have symbolized his death, or maybe the star just simply disappeared. You can interpret it in many ways. Kuwamoto: This...actually, this is what I wanted everyone to think about. When I was asked about this in Japan, I suggested that fans remember the ending of the Japanese Drama, Tantei Monogatari. There is not much chance to see it in america, though. [laughs] Minami: Every staff member who worked on the show has a different opinion about Spike's Death, and I believe that's okay. My personal opinion about the last scene is that the show came to an end - nothing more, nothing less.

I like to think that he didn't die. In Ballad of Fallen Angels, he fell out of a two story building, and lived. So, there is a possibilty... I also heard that they wanted to make a sequel, but haven't yet.
