For a new Big Bang, everything would have to rush back to the centre.

is the world gonna end in the near future, no. is it going to end, of course. i just don't want the world to end while i'm still here. that's why this subject isn't totally a moot point. all humans are curious of how their end will come, including me. do you know how much it would suck if the world ended while we were still alive! but the reason i don't think it's ending soon are two reasons: 1. the sun has like at least another billion years before it goes supernova, life can defintely proper until then. 2. nobody can predict when the world ends! God's the only one that knows for sure! so that means maybe i'm wrong, maybe the world will explode a minute after you read this sentence, but i like to think that if the sun can continue giving us life for so much longer, we'll hopefully still stick around

hmmm...how are you so sure that the world isn't gonna end in our lifetime...it could, it could not...but I'm not really worried about what the prophecies say, I just try to help on what I can to make it a better place, and to make the people around me and that know me feel better. Still, I don't know how you're all so sure nothing will happen in our lifetime...it could happen anytime...today, or in 7000 years...all I know, is that I'm not good looking, so i don't vote...

Eh, I doubt the world will end in our life times. I still think the end of the Earth will come when the Sun dies out in a few billion years. At the rate things are going the human race will probably destroy it self before then though.

How many of you have read the book of Apocalypse in the Bible? By the looks in the posts I can tell not many.... The world won't blow up and I'm pretty sure it won't "end" when the sun dies a billion years from now, that's the scientifical reason they have given. But in the book of Apocalypse 8, 12 The Fourth Trumpet, it says that when the fourth angel plays the fourth trumpet one third of the sun, one third of the moon and one third of the stars will die, and along with all of the 7 seals is part of what will happen to humans that got left in the Rapture, so it won't blow up Some of the stuff that says in the book of Apocalypse is happening now, so yes; God will come soon. Like when it says that the great Babylon will stop being powerful, Babylon is United States, and the dollar has started losing its value and stuff that has been happening recently like the death of the pope. Supposedly the new pope that will be chosen is gonna be a servant of Satan and Satan himself will come for some part of the east later on. And I'm pretty sure that those who say "I don't care cuz that stuff won't happen in our lifetime" will regret it later when they see the faith of the Earth before the last battle between God and Satan after he has taken all of the people he could fool. And yes Son Goshin, people can predict how the world was going to end. Joseph, the one who wrote the book of Apocalypse did. Lol, ok that's it for now

^Well, all that is from a Christian point of view of course...I have read all that, I read the Apocalypse many times...I just don't take as a fact that all the stuff is going to happen that way...
Anyways, this topic is interesting...even if you don't believe this will happen soon, it's pretty interesting...

So you don't have faith in God then? If you don't that's kind of sad....

I do have faith in God...I just prefer to live by my own feelings and emotions, than living by a book. I believe in God, just not the way most Christians, Muslims, Jews, or whatever religion believe in him...

It's not just a book, it's God's word. It's not here because some 'crazy people' decided to "invent" what was going to happen hundreds and hundreds of years after they died. If people don't believe in what the Bible says then I can't make them change their opinion and believes, but a LOT of the things it says there DID happened and are happening and if people still don't believe that what the Bible says then they're kind of dense...

Well, it's God's word for Christians...it's probably right, and there's a lot of amazing values in the bible, but when it comes to believing that stuff will happen the way it says there, I don't take it as a fact, only as a possibility...

So you don't have faith in God then? If you don't that's kind of sad.... Ugh..way to turn this into another "God" thread... If you really believe in all that apocalypse stuff then it's all ready set in stone in your mind what's going to happen. Which is fine. Believe what you want to believe. Just don't go around calling people "sad" or "dense" for not agreeing with you. I say, if there is anything that saves the world, it WONT be faith in god, but humanity. As far as the world literally ending, as in blowing up or something. It's totally possible. Humans are kind of idiots when it comes to advancing, we make lots and lots of mistakes. And the higher we advance the bigger the mistakes tend to get. This is what we call "progression" (wrong word possibly?) and I have no doubt this will be our down fall. Scientists aren't the enemy though. It's just human nature. Wether there is world peace tommorow or not. Our need to know, will end up killing us eventually. Thats what I think anyway.

-.- You are contradicting yourself...You say humanity will save the world and then you say we're gonna destroy it....
I can give my opinion if I want and how I want to express it, if I think people are dense or sad is because they deny what is slapping them in the face not because they don't agree with me. How can they deny something that is already starting to happen and was already said it was going to happen?

-.- You are contradicting yourself... Yep, I do that a lot. I meant in saving the world from like...I donno. As in making everything good and such. Not so much the state of the planet but society. People can change. I was basically trying (very poorly) to distinguish the being saved from the apocolypse, as in humanity; from the end of the world, as in a very literal sense that we can destroy ourselves, and how I think it's inevitable. And, yeah, it's possible that we can change our "curiousity that killed a cat" ways too. I just think that it is more embedded in who we are though, as humans. I do acknowledge your faith and respect it, but don't set a bad example if you really love your religion. I would say I have an unusual amount of understanding and control. Just keep in mind that most people don't, and when you say stuff like that don't expect them to just sit there patiently and listen. Of course you have every right to though... Also, I don't want to seem like I'm "dodging" your question. I simply don't want to start that arguement. I really really, don't want to make this another god thread. There is a reason I never posted in the other one to begin with.
