Paramount Pictures has tapped scribe Ben Ramsey to pen an adaptation of the James Patterson bestseller "Roses Are Red," featuring homicide detective Alex Cross reports Variety. "Roses" has been in development for several years at Paramount after solid returns for the previous two Alex Cross films "Kiss the Girls" in 1997 and "Along Came a Spider" in 2001 which starred the Oscar-winning Morgan Freeman as the forensic psychologist with a knack for hunting killers. "Roses" centers on Cross hunting the Mastermind, the brains behind a series of bank robberies in which employees or family members are held hostage. Ramsey's credits include the upcoming big-budget actioners "Luke Cage" for Sony and Fox's "Dragonball Z" resors of the news from www.darkhorizons.com/news05/050401j.php
