Speechless, lost in thought, disgusted, and enlightened is the way you will feel when you read the final page of this unbelievable novel. The Kaffir Boy is the retelling of the true life chronicles of author Mark Mathabane struggling to grow up in 1970's Africa. Facing the complications of the brutal apartheid system, an overly abusive father, sickly siblings and an unbelievable display of white supremacy. The chronicles of how Mathabane matures from courageous youth into a highly educated paragon of black individuals is a highly engrossing tale. The epic tale will last you over 600 pages, but it's tale is a story that was meant to be known. Filled with brutal murders, massacres, rapes, and other heinous acts this tale truly is not meant to be read for the easily offended. However, for the open-minded and looking for a great long and enduring read, you should definitely add this to your reading lists. Stellar read!
