Wait what? NBA V3 was given pretty good ratings. It has a rightful spot at the top. More deserved than games like Resident Evil 4 which had 1 week at #1? Also, NBA STREET V3 was given 4/10 in my mag. "An illusion of fun with easy moves and plenty of baskets. What that means in real terms is a skill-void that's totally unrewarding and unsatisfying. Avoid this like the plague itself." Rankings Based on EB Games figures from 2/13/05 to 2/19/05 1. Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose - PS2 2. Star Fox: Assault - GC 3. NBA Street V3 - PS2 4. NBA Street V3 - Xbox 5. Champions: Return to Arms - PS2 6. NBA Street V3 - GC 7. Mercenaries - PS2 8. Resident Evil 4 - GC 9. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - PS2 10. Shadow of Rome - PS2 Well expect the charts to remain the same over the next few weeks but maybe with a new #1 in the form of GT4. As the weeks go by we will slowly build up to the release of killer games like Doom 3, Jade Empire and Splinter Cell 3. Rankings Based on EB Games figures from 2/20/05 to 2/26/05 1. Gran Turismo 4 - PS2 2. MVP Baseball 2005 - PS2 3. MVP Baseball 2005 - XBOX 4. Tekken 5 - PS2 5. Major League Baseball 2K5 - XBOX 6. NBA Street V3 - PS2 7. Street Fighter Anniversary Collection - PS2 8. Star Fox: Assault - GC 9. Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose - PS2 10. Project: Snowblind - XBOX

Yeah, that is true. But some people disagree about things here and there. But you have to admit sports games are a major thing of VG. Lots of people play them for that reason alone.

doesn't the whole lack of originality get to you sometimes?
apparently not, if you look at most game sales.

Yeah, I will definitely agree with that. Watching games like Resident Evil 4 go by the way side while NBA Street V3 takes the spot is frustrating. Resident Evil 4 is an awesome game. It is up there with Halo 2 and GTA San Andreas.

Rankings Based on EB Games figures from 3/28/05 to 4/3/05
1. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory - Xbox 2. God of War - PS2 3. Dynasty Warriors 5 - PS2 4. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory - PS2 5. Gran Turismo 4 - PS2 6. MVP Baseball 2005 - PS2 7. NARC - PS2 8. MX vs. ATV Unleashed - Xbox 9. Dragon Ball Z: Sagas - PS2 10. Tekken 5 - PS2
Well, nothing shocking exactly. I think it was rather obvious SC:CT would end up #1. Nice to see its the Xbox version. Apart from that PS2 nominates the charts. Although with the release of Doom 3 and Jade Empire. I expect Xbox to rule the top few spots in the next few weeks.

I expected Sagas to be higher than it is, you know cuz of all the DBZ fanboys and Fangirls. Awkward... God of War is in the right spot though.

I have to admit, i've been pretty busy the last few weeks with coursework, so i haven't updated this thread in this last 2 weeks until now. If i remember correctly, the Xbox version of sagas was 4th last week, so thats not bad considering the quality of the game...

Yeah, you must have been really busy. You were hardly here. I was guessing that SC was going to take top honors too.

Reassuring to know I'm not the only one around here being bombarded with scholarly studying. Let me tell you Advance Placement Classes + Baseball + Symphony practices = No Online/ Gaming time. Anyway back on topic, it really is a shame that mediocre software such as DBZ Sagas will go on to sell millions of copies, while perfectly orchestrated masterpieces such as Metroid Prime: Echoes, Resident Evil 4, Devil May Cry 3, will all slip underneath the attention of customers. It's a sad state of affairs and quite frankly, I'm becoming tired of it.

As the video game industry expands, casual gamers we be brought in who will look for brand names for purchases as for them, its a safe purchase.

I really can't believe that people don't at least look up ratings before they purchase a game. And if you're a parent with a kid who likes games, then do it for them. One time I saw a kid who was getting a system with his dad, and this kid probably shouldn't even had been getting a system. The kid couldn't even take two minutes to answer some of his dad's questions about what he wanted, because he was too busy playing the demo version outside the cases. Anyway, after getting a Gameboy Advance, the dad asked the kid what he wanted. The kid says Shrek. Now I don't know about you, but there are just so many titles out there, besides Shrek, that a person could spend 30 bucks on.

Yeah, but you have to remember, some kids will watch a film etc, then see the game and think, "wow, i enjoyed the film, lets get the game." Some people would rather play recognised brand games than new exciting games. I have to admit i have fallen into that trap, and im sure most of us have, namely with DBZ games. Now i read the reviews and they say they are average games, but i just dont care because i can play a game based around DBZ...
