Hardly a shocking result this week. I think it was rather obvious Doom 3 would take top spot, while the excellent SC:CT lies below. Nice to see Xbox back in control, but its a shame that this chart hasnt seen a GC game in a while. As for the next week or so, i expect it to remain rather similar apart from a new #1 which i predict to be Jade Empire for Xbox. IGN have given that game a 9.9/10 and classed it the best RPG on Xbox. Seems like BioWare have out done themselves again.
I must say Gamepsot have really gone down in my opinion as a respectable site. They have simply turned to PS2 fanboys. It seems that no matter how good an Xbox or GC game is, they unfairly give it a lower score. An recent example of this is with Splinter Cell:Chaos Theory, Doom 3 and now Jade Empire. Every respectable site i vist have given these 3 games all over 9/10, but not Gamespot, no, they must seek attention and draw in readers by publishing controversial reviews. They gave SC:CT 8.6/10, Doom 3 8.6/10 and now they have given Jade Empire 8.4/10. All 3 of these games really sell the Xbox system and Gamespot have taken a dig at them. I wouldnt be surprised if Gamespot had given these titles higher scores if they were PS2 exclusive... They described Jade Empire as basically KOTOR but with martial arts... They said the loading times are too long for a system as capable as Xbox, and the cameras dodgey... I wish Gamespot would jump off the Sony bandwagon and review scores fairly instead of being biased towards Sony and seeking attention with controversial reviews. From now on i doubt i will take any notice of Gamespot reviews as they have lost all credability with me.
