Well, I remember that before the hack, this was the movie with the most replies...I wonder why nobody made a thread for it after it.
Anyways...what are your opinions about this movie?
I think it's very deeply moving...even for non-Christians (like me). I don't know why it got so many bad reviews.
It really let us look to the human side of Jesus, made us know that he was as human as any of us and suffered as any of us would. It's the only Jesus' movie I've seen that lets us see Jesus being humorous once, when he is with his mother at home making a dinner table.
Then, we see how he suffered not only physically, but emotionally, by seeing his beloved mother cry...and of course, we also see the pain that Mary went through.

I have mixed opinions of this movie. It was severely unlcear on many points but I do love the other guy who was crusified next to Jesus. He was dying and still talking shyt. This thread was discussed already, it was called the "God" thread .

Well, the point of this thread is not to discuss about God. We're talking about a movie here....I hope everyone does...

The movie was really well done, movie-wise anyway. The setting was good, music was beautiful, pretty much everything in the movie was excellent. However..... I find it VERY uneccessary to make a movie purely about the death of Jesus, any Catholic and even non Catholic's knew how he died, and its importants to the catholic faith. And even though he died a horrible death for the most admirable reasons, it should not be a faith lifting movie. A movie on Jesus's life, and the message's he gives to people, would have been much, much better. Jesus did such great things every day of his life, yet how he dies is the only thing worthy of a movie? It doesnt make too much sence. Even his resurection serves more importance than his death
In a nutshell, as a Catholic I'm pretty dissapointed that a gory death is the only thing people care to see.

Welcome to hollywood, Mister Catholic.
I was just getting reintroduced to the Christian faith when I watched this movie, and such gore really made me think the faith over. I'm not completely angsty over Christianity and how it pollutes minds, anymore. I really do see now what a real follower of Jesus keeps in their head all of the time.
It almost converted me, but I'd rather stay with my beliefs.
It changed a lot of thoughts I have now, so yes, this was, godCURSES!, a good movie.

This movie was amazing. I think that it is one of the only Jesus movies that acurrately depicts the death of Christ. -two thumbs up

As I said...there's plenty of movies that talk about things that Jesus' did in his life. The whole point of the movie, I don't think was to have fun watching a gory death...but to make you think about suffering...as I said...it really made me think about my relationship with my mother too.

This movie proves that Mel Gibson is very talented- especially in the art of multi-tasking.. ;D

They did do a great job on the depiction of life during those times. With the movie, I feel it was worth watching but nothing more. It may have been accurate on Jesus's death, but I would take Jesus of Nazarith over it any day. I do wish they would have shed more light on the devils temptation but what can you do...

yeah...it wasn't better than Jesus of Nazareth, but this one was a different kind of movie...I still think it was very good.
