Just a new idea. Something for a change. I don't know whether to vote heavy metal or nu - metal...

Ah, what the hell. Heavy Metal it is. I've been let down by nu - metal to many times.

As everyone knows, I go with Punk, REAL punk not GC, or simple plan or whatever. But Punk isn’t the only thing I like, I actually like some techno, Japanese rock, some dance, and more. I love music , so my taste varies on the music not really the genre, I look for the instrumental playing, lyrics, what they are singing about and how they go to sing it, more then its type of genre . ^_^

What type of punk are we talking here? Theres different types of punk in the main catogory. "Real Punk" and "WTF? This isnt Punk?" Good C, Simple Plan , Blink 182 falls under "WTF This isnt Punk" _____________________ and mention this... And what do greenday call them (I kinda call them sh*t )

Well, metal would probably be at the top of my list but lately I've been listening to a bit of almost everything. Today alone I've already listened to Eminem (*dodges various blunt objects*), Nirvana, Metallica, Malice Mizer (Yeah, Fluffy got to me too ), Green Day (*dodges a kitchen sink and a knife*) and The Beatles. Go musical diversity.

Yay, you like Malice Mizer So tell me, what's your favorite song of theirs? And I'm still wondering why techno/electronica isn't on there.

And I'm still wondering why techno/electronica isn't on there. I didn't consider it a major enough genre. I tried to cover all the favourites, but you can't get everything into eight categories.

Sure you can!
I wrote this in a rant against the goth "genre" of music (i'm not against the "goth" subculture, i'm simply against calling it a genre of music.)
It was:
1. Classical (all opera, all symphonic, all piano, etc) 2. Blues 3. Rock (Anything from Buddy Holly/Chuck Berry to...uh...mainstream poprock bands...to all forms of metal) 4. Punk (though it's close to rock, it has a different intended message, therefore, it's different) 5. Dance/Elektronik Supersonik (broma)/techno/whatever it calls itself 6. Traditional/Folk (cultural musickish stuff)
These are the MAIN, TYPICAL, IDENTIFIABLE genres of music. All others are mixtures of these. These listed are the pure forms.

I've always considered punk to be a subgenre of rock. I guess everyone sees things differently, huh?
