I know he wasn't going SSJ3 but there was good reason for that. He didn't want to wake up Buu. But he was at SSJ2, givin' it his all and still getting owned in certain parts of the fight.

Vegeta owned in that fight. even if goku turned ssj3 he would run out of time before the end of the fight.

That's right, of course he knew that if he turned SS3 his time on earth would be shorter, and sacrificing his time on earth for a fight against Vegeta was kinda stupid. Not that Vegeta wasn't strong enough to fight a SS3, but because Goku knew that Vegeta was already a part of the Z fighters and a friend of his.

It wasn't a matter of not wanting to go SSJ3, he couldn't go SSJ3. Not if he didn't want to help save the world as well. Thanks GokuSaiyajin! ;D

yeh but all he really managed in his time was to start teaching the fusion dance. which was effectively useless.

Do you think if Vegeta & Goku fused into Gogeta in buu saga, Gogeta could have defeated kid buu?

No, not a chance. Vegito would barely have won. Gogeta would have have gotten mullered.

Goku vs. Frieza was my favorite battle, first super sayan tranformation, amazing attacks (the huge "Genkidama" specially), good amount af violence, drama and action, and the best final, IMO

Super saiyan was mystical then. not so weak that you need to go ssj 290938. all that sense of power had faded by cell saga.

Ok, so that brings another question. Is Vegetto then stronger than Gogeta, its really hard to tell since the earrings were broken and could never get used afterwards.

Vegito is much more powerful. The upside to Potara is the power increase, the downside is the permanence. It is kinda like this.
If Goku's power is X and Vegeta's is Y then;
Potara = X + Y x 3 Fusion Dance = X + Y x 2

Not that Vegeta wasn't strong enough to fight a SS3, but because Goku knew that Vegeta was already a part of the Z fighters and a friend of his. LOL his time would have been shorten? He didnt care about that, he was trying to save Vegeta's fragile pride, nothing more. If he cared about his time left he wouldnt have screwed around showing the 2 kids SSJ3 on the lookout. He could have defeated Vegeta easily with SSJ3, why the hell else do you think Vegeta got so pissed when they met again fighting Buu? Do I have to connect all the dots for you ? He wouldnt even need to go SSJ3 just raise his power slightly above Vegeta an beat him down. But as of yet again Goku was screwin with his opponent. Because Goku is always more interested in his opponents technique's rather than just defeating them like Vegeta. Goku's only intersted in gettting stronger not necessarily winning, Vegeta only interest is winning an being stronger than Goku. That why Vegeta always got beat he kept setting limits, like King Kia said Goku is almost child like and knows no limits. I can totally identifiy with that lol.

Goku didn't want to power up too much. Remember, their energy was being transferred to Majin Buu. If he had gone SSJ3 Majin Buu would have been woken in an instant.
