New update... Later, Joss Whedon. The Buffy creator won't be directing this project, according to what he reportedly said during a recent conference call: "After looking deep into my heart I realized that Fox did not ask me to write and direct X3." (Cinematic Happenings Under Development)

Marvel Studios talked to two or three directors about getting this job a week or two ago so I'm guessing they got their man by now. they'll probably announce whoever he is pretty soon.

I bet you Jubilee and Shadowcat are in this one. And maybe some Gambit. That would be awesome! There was also a rumor about Sabertooth and Toad coming back in this one. They were pretty big characters in the comics and shows.

If gambit does show, he will be with Magneto first anyhow. Shadowcat is still a child so they wont put much stock in here. The characters I think that will join the team in missions will be Rogue, iceman, Collosus (sorry spelling), and possibly jubalee, but not sure on the last one....

Shadowcat was a small part in 2 so i dont see anything really big for her. but colossus, he was great in 2 for his little bit and i reckon hes almost old enough to help.
And god, please don't let jubilee be in this one.

Bad news as always when dealing with this one. While the Wolverine spinoff movie rides the fast track into preproduction, the third X-Men film is falling slowly into development hell. Despite previous rumors, Buffy mastermind Joss Whedon will not be directing X3, leaving the project with nobody attached, save for the screenwriter. (movies.com)
I hope they don't scrap it

(movies.com) I hope they don't scrap it They won't scrap xmen 3. Here is some news that you left out: Marvel Studio's head hancho Avi Arad met with two (possibly three) directors about two weeks ago to discuss taking over the directing duties of xmen three. The names of these directors have not been released as of yet. (My guess is that they are having trouble deciding between two canadites or they have their guy and are waiting untill they get the entire cast signed untill they make an offcial announcement) More news: In marvel's third quarter financial report (which they released just at the end of last week) they list the status of all of their superhero movie projects. Xmen is Still listed under "Projects for 2006" they have the release date set at May 5th 2006. They would have changed it to "projects in development" if they actaully had to go back that far. X-Men 3 to Follow Dark Phoenix Story Line Posted by Binh Ngo on Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, 03:50 PM
Binh Ngo writes: "The third "X-Men" movie will follow the Dark Phoenix story line producer Lauren Shuler Donner reveals in a CHUD interview. She also touches upon possible "X-Men" spin-offs like the "Wolverine" movie, with Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine. "X-Men 3" is scheduled to start filming in summer 2005."
I found this on rotten tomatoes. I say YAY!- to myself, lol.

If they do this movie right it will be awsome. And Lauren Shuler Donnor also said that Joss Whedon shoudln't be counted out just yet dispite what he himself has said.

This movie could be big, and I mean HUGE! It would be awesome if they got all of the characters (major characters) in on the action. I was think about maybe Scarlet Witch and QuikSilver. Wouldn't that be fun,;D
