Offspring are indeed good. You can like GreenDay. Just don't call them Punk. Yeah, I think they're good, but they should be classified as Alternative Rock. And Blink was ok but they just got ridiculus after Enima of the State. Ah, we need to mention Elvis Costello. He's strange sort of punk

I think they were talking about Greenday. I like that Smash album. Though to be honest, most people see the offspring as sellouts. That sort of thing matters a whole lot in the punk community too.

To answer that, you have to know "the essence of punk." So..." " I donno. Maybe they're considered "pop-punk" now. I don't really hang out with punks anymore.

I know what you mean, that maybe punk has to do with how they behave...or something like that.
But when they made those albums they were totally punk, those albums have nothing to do with the way they are now...

I agree, OffSpring did falter and lose their Punk edge.
Elvis Costello, I suppose, is a weird type of Punk. The message in quite a few of his songs is the same. Just the way he plays it is different.

Hmmm...this thread had been forgotten...let's revive it with more Punk band names...
Has anyone heard of The Casualties? or The Briggs?
Some songs I recommend from them are Punk Rock Love and Punx Unite by The Casualties...and Devil's Playground or a version of Get Off of My Cloud by The Briggs...
