who do you think is the best drummer of all time?
my pick is Ray Herrera of Fear Factory if you haven't heard their music listen to Bonescraper, Cyberwaste, Freedom Or Fire, H/K (Hunter/Killer) and Zero Signal and you'll see what I mean.

Yoshiki of X Japan, no doubts. He broke BOTH of his wrists playing, and also PERMANENTLY damaged his spine from it, and yet, he still went out to play WITH A NECK CAST ON. There is NOTHING better than that. Great player. REALLY great player. (and he's beautiful like a woman )

So just because he near killed himself that makes him good? Hmm... I think there is more to it than that. I would say Matt Kelly, he has energy.

It was because he IS SO energetic, so powerful, so pounding, that's what makes him good.
And he is also an EXTREMELY good piano player. There's no comparison.
And did I mention he's good lookin'?
He was risking his body and his ability to play for his fans. Nothing more beautiful. His drum solos, and he had some HARD drum solos, were 20 or more minutes at a time, and really had his hands bleeding towards the end. And he just kept playing. He loved the challenge, loved the pain.

Same. The drumming must be perfect. However, we both have different views of perfect drumming. Thats what makes it interesting. ;D

Taking in consideration the time and style, I must say Carl Palmer from Atomic Rooster, who also joined to make emerson, lake, and palmer; 3 of the most amazing musicians and songwriters of all time. Palmer was an amazing drummer.

lars is much better live than he sounds on metallica's albums. and so what if a guy broke his wrists playing (i'm assuming that he broke them from playing too hard) lars breaks metal drumsticks.
but as good as lars is and as good as the other guy may be (i've never heard him play) believe me when i say no one is better than Ray Herrera

I was sort of intrigued by Fear Factory; I've only heard Byte Block off a website and random other songs I need to hear more of them. The don't seem too bad, to me. Certainly not high in the playlist, but I'm willing to listen to more..
