I'm going with... Neil Peart (from Rush) Definitly the best drummer ever, have you seen him play? he sits in a circle of drums and spins around on his stool. You cant name a better drummer. But Jordon from strung out comes pretty close.

Another good drummer would be Ron Bushy from Iron Butterfly. he has some great solos.

Yeah I've seen him. He is pretty d*mn good. Also, I've heard people refer to Buddy Rich as one of the best drummers ever. I donno if any of you have heard of him though. If your a Jazz fan then you probably have. I love Jazz ,but my drumming history isn't quite up to par. So here's a quote from Neil Peart: "You assign a role...you say ok Buddy Rich is the best drummer in the world. You don't re-examine it. You just accept it as a reality. And I think I went thru many years just accepting it without ever having to go back to the records or re-examining that opinion. Having the opportunity to do that made me realize...well, it was astonishing as to how good he was." Neil Peart, RUSH Anyone else heard of Buddy Rich?

Does anyone here know what happened to Lars Ulrich at the Download in England, in June of last year. I know that he was mysteriously taken ill, and Joey Jordison had to take his place.
