The bands that I would suggest you listen to are:
Demon Hunter (listen to "My heartstrings come undone" and "I play dead" and you'll know why) Pantera- if you don't know who they are then you need to take a step back and re-evaluate your life right now)
That's it till I can think of more.

Devendra Banhart. Kinda....strange sort of folk. This is what Bob Dylan would be like if he took more drugs than he did and had a singing, dreaming high-pitched voice.

I personally get my shirts when I see them live, one shirt for each time I see them. Like a souvenir. But you can get them off of the Dropkick's website. Pantera are good, I reccomend them. Another band I reccomend is No Comply. They are Punk/Ska with strong female vocals and amazing horn. The singing style is similar to Gwen Stefani but more rocky. They also do an amazing live set.

Gah, I'm low in recommendations... Nothing has really blown me away lately. But since I'm listening to The Flaming Lips right now, I might as well recommend em. "Halloween On The Barbary Coast" is a pretty good song. If your into like indie rock sort of stuff...

I recommend an album by the sweedish punk band that sings in english, Refused - the shape of punk to come. For anyone here who likes music.
And ofcourse I greatly reccomend these bands from certain genres, The must hear or else you should be dead are *'d:
Classic Rock
- Led Zeppelin - Neil Young - Rush* - Rolling Stones
80's Rock
- Corey Heart* - Billy Idol
Oldschool Punk
- Rancid - Anti-flag* - Pennywise - The Explosion - The Misfits *
Ska
- Less Than Jake* - Catch 22
New Style Punk
- AFI - Avenged Sevenfold - Boy Sets Fire* - Coheed And Cambria - Poison the Well - Refused - Strung Out - Thrice*
EMO
- Saves The Day - Taking Back Sunday - Brand New* ( I know a lot of people here dont like Emo, mostly because of lyrics, but this band does not really sing about love songs or whine or crap, They are one of my favorites, and quite talented. They can not be called Whino)
Screamo
- The Used - Thursday - My Chemical Romance - From Automn to Ashes
Heavy Metal
- Metalica* - Ramstien - Nine Inch Nails - Nirvana
Grindcore
- Lamb Of God - Everytime I Die
Instrumental
- Nobuo Uematsu* - God Speed You Black Emporer
Classical
-None
Techno
- Amon Tobin*
MTV Bands
- The Offspring* - Lincoln Park - Green Day ( say what you want, they have & had talent) - Box Car Racer - Weezer*
Pop - Micheal Jackson*
Rap ( the ones I can sort of stand at a party or something)
- Eminem - DMX - Snoop Dog* ( c'mon, he's the original pimp)
Country
- Brooks and Dunn - Rascal Flats
Big Canadian Bands ( besides ones said already)
- The Tragically Hip* ( a definite) - Billy Talent - Alexis on Fire - Nickel Back - Sum 41
Those are all my favorite bands for each genre, and YOU! should definitly check them out!

You seriously did not put "None" in Classical. Not even Beethoven? Not even Mozart? You, my friend, are the dunce. Nine Inch Nails is not Heavy Metal. They're industrial. Nirvana is DEFINITELY not heavy metal. Heavy metal is anywhere from Dimmu Borgir to Metallica to Megadeth to any number of Viking Metal bands. New Style Punk? No, no....It's Pop Rock. You didn't put Yes, Pink Floyd, or the Beatles into Classic Rock? Jesus Christ, you need to listen harder.. And where's The Clash? The Dead Kennedys? The Sex Pistols? The Cure? Liszt? Bob Dylan? yeesh... And I might as well add Malice Mizer for good measure

I like you! Even though I'm from a different culture, you still think yours is right, it must be an American thing.
"You seriously did not put "None" in Classical. Not even Beethoven? Not even Mozart? You, my friend, are the dunce."
Im no dunce, they all suck.
"Nine Inch Nails is not Heavy Metal. They're industrial."
Im sorry I didnt go into fine tune, they are pretty much the same. Ramstien is also industrial, by the way.
"Nirvana is DEFINITELY not heavy metal. Heavy metal is anywhere from Dimmu Borgir to Metallica to Megadeth to any number of Viking Metal bands."
There, your actually right for once.
"New Style Punk? No, no....It's Pop Rock."
Bands like yellow card and simple plan are pop rock, as for those bands, Im gonna assume you've only heard the radio cuts by AFI and Coheed, you should listen to their actual stuff, and the other ones I've listed.
"You didn't put Yes, Pink Floyd, or the Beatles into Classic Rock? Jesus Christ, you need to listen harder.."
So sue me( another america pun, lets go for three!...) I forgot the Beatles, and no, they arent one of my favorites. I never liked Pink Floyd.
"And where's The Clash? The Dead Kennedys? The Sex Pistols? The Cure? Liszt? Bob Dylan?
...."
I never really listened to those bands, but Ill take your word for it and check them out.
Hey, If you wanna put down the high demand and therefor expensive non-perscription drugs (... and that makes three) and keep arguing for no reason, Im up for it, we'll make a party of it, Ill bring the dip!

I'm a little confused. What does my being American have to do with anything? If at all, I'm trying to broaden your tastes.
I'm not arguing. I'm making additions and amends to your list. But if you call that arguing, go ahead. Well, except for saying poppy rock instead of new style punk. That's arguing.
