WWE Spring cleaning begins.
Earlier today the WWE announced both Matt Hardy and Rhyno were released from thier contracts.
Now they obviously got rid of Rhyno due to the fact they haven't really given him anything to do since 2001. He might show up in Japan when his no compete clause expires in a few months and team up with Palumbo, Stamboli and A-Train (and a few Japanese wrestlers whose names I don't remember) in one of NJPW's Voodoo Killers stable (seeing as he could make alot wrestling for NJPW) but Matt's release kind of has some questions behind it.
Some people think Matt might have asked for his release due to a personal problem backstage involving a few fellow wrestlers on RAW while some think the WWE may have fired Matt for blabbing about the problem on his website. Either way he'll be a part of TNA when his no compete clause expires. He always said if he wasn't signed to a two year deal with the WWE he'd be in TNA and now's his chance.
And while the above news may be bad for Matt and Rhyno fans the next news is terrible for all. There's gonna be another Diva Search this year. Yep, prepare for more wasted segments as another batch of women will be hired, then quit one by one as Randy Orton acts like a johnson, crapping in thier bags and sexually harrasing them over the phone (god, I wish I was making that stuff up).
RoH
WWE has signed a deal with the Internet Wrestling Communities favorite federation, Ring of Honour. Kind of ironic seeing as RoH is the exact opposite of WWE but McMahon feels a deal with RoH will help the WWE, which it very well could. RoH has the best pure wrestlers in the United States as well as a healthy relationship with New Japan.
ECW
Yes, that ECW. The WWE has confirmed that on a day I can't remember in June the PPV ECW One Night Stand will be held. Concidering all of the former ECW wrestlers the WWE currently has, as well as the former ECW wrestlers the WWE has just signed and a deal they made with TNA that would allow the WWE to use some TNA wrestlers this could be a good event. All the WWE has to do is give TNA the rights to the names "The Road Dogg", "Billy Gunn" and "The New Age Outlaws" (and probably now "The Hardy Boyz").
USA Network
The WWE has announced they are leaving Spike TV and returning RAW and Heat to the USA Network and bringing Velocity with it meaning I'll never get to watch Heat or Velocity again (no huge loss...but still). Also written into this contract is the stipulation that the WWE will get some saturday night specials on NBC in 2005 (you'd think NBC would run away from Vince seeing as they had the XFL on that channel in 2001. We all know how that turned out. ). Just like the '80s.
TNA is currently trying to replace the WWE seeing as Spike TV was still happy with the ratings RAW and the other wrestling shows generated.
