Fog I: The Gods of Fog (First Part)
All life began thousands of years ago, when Earth desolated and fog covered all of its surface. There was a bright fog on one side of Earth and a dark fog on the other side. These two fogs held an immense energy within them. They were dense and did not let anything else be seen on the surface of Earth. There weren't any lakes, oceans, rivers, nor mountains; just plain land made up the surface.
But the opposite energies from both fogs made them want to attract each other. They moved closer together until they began to mix with each other. They began to create one single, more dense, and more powerful fog which covered a smaller portion of Earth.
Both of these fogs were destined to unite one day and that day came as expected. When both fogs finally mixed together completely, a new fog was created. Then, a huge beam of energy emerged from it, and the dense fog took the form of two individuals. These two individuals were very different from each other, yet they were attracted by the other's looks and attitudes and they felt they needed each other. One of these individuals adopted a male form and the other one a female form. The female called herself Yajireh, and the male called himself Satanas. These two became the first lovers to inhabit Earth.
"My love", said Yajireh to Satanas, "let us make this Earth a better place, a better place for us to love each other", she said.
"If make this Earth be different from what it is now is what you want, then we shall make that happen", said Satanas.
So, the two lovers began to use the powers they obtained from the fogs that created them to give life to Earth. They created the oceans, the trees, mountains, creatures, and everything else that makes Earth be alive. All was made to Yajireh's pleasure. But Satanas began to feel like Yajireh wasn't giving as much to him as he was giving to her.
"Yajireh", he said, "all that we've done, all that Earth has changed, has not inspired me any happiness. I still feel as empty as before." Yajireh knew that he also wanted a proof of love, and she was willing to do anything for Satanas.
"What is it then, that will make you happy?" she asked, " I am also willing to prove my enduring love to you".
"We have made Earth a better place for us to live, but there still no one to enjoy the beauty of what we created other than ourselves. The one thing that will make me happy is that we have children of our own. I want to see more creatures to inhabit Earth, but not like the animals who only follow their instincts, but creatures like me and you, who will appreciate what we did with Earth, and that will love you and me for our creation. I want them to feel love, like the love I feel for you"
Yajireh was pretty touched by the words of her lover, and she accepted his request. Thus, they gave birth to their children. Children that looked like them, and felt the same emotions and thought like them. But Satanas and Yajireh decided not to give their godly powers to any of their children. They did not want anyone else to have the power to create, since that would also grant them the power to massively destroy. This was made to Yajireh's wish, since she loved her creation and would not stand to see it destroyed.
Years after, the children that Yajireh and Satanas procreated, began to have their own children. Earth became populated and this filled Satanas with joy. He loved his children, and tried to give them as much as they requested.
Neither Satanas nor Yajireh though, was aware that the humans they had procreated, began to feel other emotions besides love. They ignored that some of their children had begun to feel envy and hate. Even though humans were still able to control it, so none of this human emotions had caused any disturbs on Earth.
But the peace that still reigned on Earth was destined to be broken. While a lonely human named Cain was hunting in the woods, he noticed a strange sound he had never heard before. It was like the sound of an immense fire burning. He still ignored the sound trying to focus on his target, an immense Yak that glowed for its beauty. He was impressed by the size of the animal. "How did Yajireh and Satanas created such beautiful creatures?" he thought. But then his thoughts were interrupted by the sound he heard before, which now was so loud that he lost the power to ignore it. He got a little frightened, but then the sound stopped right in front of the Yak. He looked towards it and he noticed there was a kind of Snake he had never seen before, he was astonished to know that such a small creature could make such a big noise.
That kind of Snake was a Devil Snake, it had more power than any other animal that inhabited Earth. It was created by Yajireh in honor to Satanas. It was also the most rare kind of any creature that inhabited Earth, and Cain now had the privilege to see it.
Cain kept watching the animal and contemplating its amazing beauty. He now had forgotten completely about the Yak and his hunt for food. He didn't want to miss what the Snake was preparing to do. Then, the Snake rose from the ground and stood still in front of the Yak. Cain noticed its red eyes, its glowing black body and long tongue with a red color that seemed like the tongue was completely covered with blood. The snake then opened its mouth wide open and stretched its tongue so much that it stuck into the Yak's head. Cain was filled with terror and dropped his bow and arrows and began to run away from the dense woods. But before getting away from the spot, he turned his head back to see the snake opening its mouth even wider and bringing the Yak's head towards its mouth by using its tongue. The Yak's body stood still a few seconds before it fell to the ground, and the Snake still had the animal's head stuck to its tongue and was still bringing it towards its mouth.
Cain couldn't believe what he had seen. After getting away from the woods, he sat down by a calm lake that he noticed in his way. He sat under a tree to get a shadow from the Sun of the early morning. He began to contemplate the beauty of the lake, how the Sun shone down on it, and how the birds were making nests on the trees nearby. He was having a moment of inner joy while suddenly he began to think about his loneliness. He began to envy the lake for having the Sun always shining down on it, and the birds for having other birds with whom to make a nest. He was jealous of all the humans that lived around him, and that had other humans that loved them and lived with them. He had been feeling an deep hate towards the people around him every time his solitude entered his mind. But he had always overcome his hate and kept living in peace with everyone he knew.
But then, he remembered the Snake. He though that it had been an unnoticed creature that was condemned to always move through the ground, but still had a power that was way higher than other creatures loved for their beauty. He began to wonder why the gods had given a creature without soul and emotions so much power while leaving him- an emotional human who loved creation and only prayed to find love-without the power to fulfill his desires.
"I must speak with a god" he thought, "after all, the only thing I want is someone to love, not someone to destroy".
