CHAPTER 2
Part 1 – The Dark Spirit rises
The sun began to set on this beautiful Aprils night outside the walls of Ohayou, Hajimemacrape University, our young Zuro sits at his desk pondering a mathematics question, as if anybody understands math these days, the hairline receding mentor of the classroom or as many would call him Mr. Shiri-Masen began explaining one of the most difficult problems known to man, asking for the attention of the class as many of them prepared to leap from their seats at the sound of the bell he asks.
“Shall I assume that none of you know the answer to systematic hydrates?” you could see from the entire class’s expressions that none of them even understood the phrase, Zuro on the other hand, willfully risking his school status raised his hand in low dignity.
“Um, can you repeat the question sir” he stated, feeling a sense of disownment the teacher leans himself back towards the ever bearing chalkboard of humanity and begins explaining once again.
A sigh of relief is breathed, shortly succumbed by a flush of rushing blood to the head, followed by the realization of the outcome of his actions, in other words he didn’t believe he just attempted that, with his social status among most of his cronies he should know better as to when to keep his mouth firmly sealed.
And to his horror, parts of the class turned to look at him, he shamefully tried to hide his head underneath the fold up desk, no one could see him cringing, most times when he leans his head underneath the desk he is greeted by a strong smell of expired tuna sandwiches but it wasn’t the case for today, a cold chill like the icy scopes of Siberia began to rumble down his spine, the world around him began to collapse into a world of darkness and the room began spinning in place, Zuro raised his head to see if this was just a motion sickness from throwing himself too fast into a claustrophobic environment or if he was beginning to feel faint, neither of these were the case.
He stared blankly into the distance, the classroom turning a dark shade of violet blue, clouds began to form around what used to be his classmates, the room began to engulf itself into a kind of black hole, Zuro felt the sudden urge to stop breathing.
As he sat there mesmerized by the vortex of darkness the sudden realization occurred that this may not be one of those normal days but rather the time of outer body experiences, he wondered if this was an out body experience but he was still in the room, from what he had read these kinds of experiences usually occur rarely but can happen at any given moment, just then, where his teacher once stood, a formation of cloud began to form, from out of that cloud came a dark figure, its glowing red eyes stared blankly into the face of Zuro’s captivated fear, its eyebrows lowered, and a smile raised across the creatures face, the sounds of “Mr. Zuro” could be heard, “Mr. Zuro” and just like that, the darkness went away, all that was left was the classroom, the teacher stood over his desk, he looked up, noticed the drool that was running down his cheek, laughter could be heard from the four corners of the room, the teacher dismayed he began to wonder what went on. “Are you alright Mr. Zuro?, you let your head drop over a minute ago onto your desk and you must have fell straight away into unconsciousness, are you okay”
Zuro took a moment to let in this new information, he took a deep breath, “I’m alright, just guess I didn’t get enough sleep” he felt like he could come up with a better excuse but to no avail, luckily the teachers expression told him that he had bought his story, if he had tried to explain that the visions of darkness began engulfing the room like the fiery demons of the underworld, he may become disorientated and worse, the class may laugh at him, although they seemed to do enough of that already, “Mr. Tamagochi” Zuro said in a loud voice speaking over his weary mind “can I go to the principals office, I think I need some time alone”
“Why of course” he said with the least bit of worry on his face, Zuro got up from his seat, bowed and left the room in a hurry, no one noticed that he had tripped on his way out, not even Zuro gave a heads up to the doors side as he blatantly fell over it, he recovered his ground and was off.
