Yeah, I can see where you are coming from. But I'm sure he would adapt it to be a great blend of both anime and live action such and such.

I personally, and maybe I'm an idiot, believe that Tarantino might actually do a good job. Fox made a great arguement. This movie, to stick with the origional storyline, is gonna have to be a little weird. Tarantino is a big time oddball filmaker and if he toned down the hardcore violence then yeah he would work wonders.
P.S. There's nothing wrong with being artistically independent

I can understand what you are saying- but I almost don't want it to be like an anime. Keep with the story line, but leave the stupid humor out. Anime tends to be overeacted. It works in a cartoon, but it wouldn't do to well in a live action movie.. Have you...watched Kill Bill yet? He used stupid anime-like humor in that movie and it worked...that's the whole point of this suggestion...he was able to put anime characteristics on that movie and still it kicked arse...

Tarantino is obviously a fan of anime in general, but does anyone know any specific shows/movies that he's a fan of?

I believe that the director would have to be alguién new, that has made something similar. And I have several candidates who please a pile to me. For example, this Joss Whedom, director of the famous Buffy and series that it enchants to me together are Dragon Ball. And in addition, already it works for the Fox. The other that enchants me for the film is the Director of Underworld, Len Weissman. It has a great future and in addition this married with which it seems to me best actríz of all the universe. Kate Beckinsale that it would be very guay like Bulma. Soon we have others like Stephen Sommers, Sam Raimi. That I am surely also loa they would make brilliant. One by pelis as Van Hellsing and the the two of The Mummy.Y the the other by everything what have do that be fantastic. Perhaps but this it has many commitments. And I prefer are these before others although are illustrious already. And it does not interest to me that it is Roland Emmerich who directs it, reason why did with Godzilla. That it did not please anything to me. And except the end. Godzilla did not have to die is like a God. and the myth was loaded. Godzilla is like a hero.

Yeah, this is a well spoken statement. I'm totaly agree with that.
I hope that FOX see it the same way.
Quetin Tarrentino is not my first choice. He's is a very good director indeed, but I think he shall make it his version. I'm not sure that this shall be an version that I we all recognise.

Steven Sommers? Why don't we just shove Michael Bay in the directing spot and it'll have an excuse to suck

Nooooo.....please, not the director from Buffy....you just named all the directors that would turn this into a simple action flick... like Underworld
