Well, there was a thread about who should direct this movie, but it's kinda old, and besides, I think it was time to make a poll with some of the suggestions that had been made...sorry if I let someone out, you know you can't put everyone in there.
And I only put names of movies so that people who don't know the director knows what movies he's directed...maybe I didn't need to put any for James Cameron or Steven Spielberg and such, but just in case...

out of those choices...i don't know...from the first two i never saw their films (a saw hulk...but it just wasn't right), peter jackson was a fan of LOTR, so that's why it turned out to be such a huge success, but i don't know how dbz would turn out if he would direct the movie...james cameron and steven spielberg, i just don't see them directing dbz...and about quentin...i LOVE his films...he certainly would bring originality...well i'll think about it...

I know Hulk sucked, but I just put that so people know what important movies has Ang Lee directed. And all those choices are suggestions that people of the forum have made. I really suggest you watch Hero...you'll see why Zhang Yimou has been suggested.

Zhan Yimou (Hero, House of Flying Daggers) - I hate the movie Hero so I automically say no to this.
Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hulk) The Hulk sucks so I say no to this too.
James Cameron (Terminator) Oh hell no.
Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings trilogy) NO!!
Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Hannibal) No...I dont want Trunks to get eaten by Goku or something.
Steven Spielberg (Jurassic Park) Dont even get me started - No.
Other/unknown/DBZ fan It would be nice if an unknown one comes. See something new for a chance but if they cant find an unknown one
Then...
Quentin Tarantino (Kill Bill) Good Actor this is one my top list. So out of these people I say this one cuz Kill Bill had good fighting.

C'mon, Zhan Yimou would be awesome...I really can't decide between him and Quentin... and all the others are just people I've seen being suggested at this forum...I don't even agree with most of them, so don't bash it on me... And...I don't know, do you think that because someone like Ridley Scott directed Hannibal, the movie is going to have cannibals in it if he directs it? I hope that was a joke...

Exact...just because of what you said, I remembered that I should vote for Tarantino...
Even though Zhan Yimou could get the epic feeling...Tarantino would be more capable of adding the DBZ style humor to it and make it look cool...and he can get the epic feeling too...

I believe that there are better directors for DBz than Sometimes they have paid attention to DBz or simply they like. I think that she must be some director who loves this great series. And I have some candidates who I am sure that sometimes they have paid attention to this prodigious series. And he is not none of these.
Young directors but with a good future. It is necessary to look for some new director. I have seen a pile of times the series of Buffy and Angel and enchants its director to me. I create for whom Joss Whedom sometimes has paid attention to Ball Dragon to make Buffy. Already that right now it will be rolled with the X-men. But for my Joss Whedom it is a great option.
The director of Smallville also would be good. And ademas in these series is a great one I also number of actors and very intresantes actresses.
Another good director would be Len Weissman. Also he is young but with a single film already he has pleased to me. Underworld is a film that fascinates to me.
Encantaria me who some of these fantastic directors was the one whom DBZ directed. I am sure that they would make it brilliant. They enchant the series to me of Buffy and Angel. ;D
Perhaps although I am mistaken. And he is better some of those directors who you say. Although frankly I if I see Quentin Tarantino is not had de Director of DBZ.

i agree, i would'nt want terentino directing dbz movies (even though i believe the guy is a great director). it's just that his movies are too gory (and even though dbz has A LOT of violence, it is nowhere near the level of gore that terentino produces). he'd probobly take pure characters like goku/gohan and make them all badass and what not. i don't wanna see some crazy badass goku blastin' off other people's heads. and if goku is like that, d*mn vegeta will be 10x more badass than he already is...(maybe i'm exaggerating a little, but you get what i'm sayin ;D). i want dbz to have a pg13 rating, maybe an r (but just because of some violence and nudity i guess, not uber violence that terentino makes). quentin terentino also tends not to use cgi a lot (well, i haven't seen any cgi in his movies that i've watched), mostly uses wires and such to make his characters do crazy ish. i wanna see some insane action with mad good cgi (unless they find a way to make fight scenes look crazy cool and realistic without cgi). so i say no to quentin. idk who though, as long as they know what they are doing, researched the stuff, have toriyama workin with them, and do it right. lol, maybe toriyama should direct this thing himself ;D.

Directors don't decide what rating a movie will be...producers do...and if the producers tell Quentin to keep the movie PG-13, he will. Unless he doesn't like to direct movies that aren't R rated....
And movies like Kill Bill used chords coz all they had was fighting...spectacular fighting, but didn't really need CGI...something like a Kamehameha wave, flying and ki auras (if they make them) would require CGI.

Quentin Tarentino?...come on now...he's NOT right for a dbz movie. Just because kill bill has fighting in it does NOT make him right for a dbz movie. Have you guys even seen any other tarentino movies besides Kill Bill? They are all AWSOME but he just has to diffrent of a style to do dbz. And he would never do a dbz movie because he has said that he doesn't want to do a movie with established characters, because he wouldn't want to have to worry about pissing off fanboys, so it wouldn't work anyway. And I personally loved hero, great symbolism, great movie. those types of movies aren't for everyone though, so I can get why some people didn't like it.

^well, that is a really good point...if he really has said that he doesn't want to make movies with stablished characters then you're totally right...he can't make it.
But I wasn't suggesting him for this movie just because Kill Bill had fighting...but because Kill Bill had a lot of anime elements that were kinda cheezy but could be accepted in the movie because of the way that Tarantino presented them.
Still, I agree with your point...and Zhang Yimou is an excellent director...would be good for DBZ, even though I don't see him directing a movie that has humor like DBZ does.

But then again it's Ben Ramsey's Job to make sure the humor is their, the director just has to present it visually. But I see your point as well.
