Yep that’s right yet another year were an anime should have been nominated but was not has come. The nominees for best animated feature film of the year are:
"The Incredibles" "Shark Tale" "Shrek 2"
The Nominees for best animated short film are:
"Birthday Boy" "Gopher Broke" "Guard Dog" "Lorenzo" "Ryan"
Production I.G's: Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence was eligible but has not been nominated...why I don't know it would have won best animated feature film this year...

Um does that surprize you? Those movies were huge money makers, and I dont think an anime will ever be nominated.

So an anime (that made under 3 million dollars in US theaters) has been nominated and won the award over the best American animations that made well over 50 million dollars in the US. Ever since that happened the Academy has made sure to never nominate an anime again because they know it would beat any American animation Blockbuster out there for Best animated feature film of the year .

Yeah thats not true. If it's a good movie then it will be Nominated you do know the academy makes the decision who would win right? and what makes you think an anime could always beat a movie like shrek or something? Dont get me wrong I like anime to but if Had a choice of watching an original anime movie or a new Shrek movie I would pick shrek.

Dont get me wrong I like anime to but if Had a choice of watching an original anime movie or a new Shrek movie I would pick shrek. I know the Academy makes the picks but even the Academy would have to pick Ghost in the Shell this year if it would have gotten nominated. If Shrek 2 was up against Ghost in the Shell and the Academy would pick Shrek 2 it would make the Academy look stupid, because Ghost in the Shell beat Shrek 2 and every one of the other nominees for Best Animated Feature Film at the World Animation Film Festival (the biggest Animation award in the World besides the Academy Awards). That’s why Ghost in the Shell didn’t even get nominated this year, because the Academy knows they would have to pick Ghost in the Shell for Best Animated Feature Film. 2004: "Ghost in the Shell," the first and only Japanese animated film to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Top Video Sales Chart. "Ghost in the Shell" won awards at The World Animation Festival for Best Theatrical Film and for Best Director of a Theatrical Feature Film.” It doesn’t matter if it’s a good movie or not the Academy only picks movies that Hollywood would like and Spirited Away was an accident for them. They saw that Disney was distributing it and that’s the only reason it was able to sneak bye the Academy and end up winning. If Disney was not the company distributing Spirited Away, lets say Bandai did, the Academy would never have let it get a nomination let alone win the award for Best Animated Feature Film. But since it did get nominated they knew they had to pick it because if they didn't, like I said before, they would look stupid if they hadn’t, because Spirited Away had won every other award in the world for Best Animated Feature Film over all the other nominees. Do you know what animes were up for Best Animated feature film last year? They were: Millennium Actress/ Pokemon Heroes/ Tokyo Godfathers… Millennium Actress and Tokyo Godfathers were even better animes then Spirited Away (the anime that won the Academy Award the year before) was. Do you know who the academy picked for the three animated films to even have a chance of winning were? They were: Brother Bear/ Finding Nemo/ The Triplets of Belleville. Have you ever heard of The Triplets of Belleville…no that’s right because no one had ever heard of it. Do you know who won the Academy Award? FINDING NEMO… Did you also know that Finding Nemo lost at every Film Festival in the World to either Millennium Actress or Tokyo Godfathers for best Animated Feature Film before the Academy Awards? That is what makes me think an Anime would always win at every Academy Awards show if the Academy would let them in. When an Anime beats the Academy’s choice for best animated feature film of the year at every other Film Festival in the world EVERY YEAR that’s what makes me think an anime would win every year if the Academy would let them in.
