This is my all time favourite book. Tolkien's sequel/prequel to Lord of the Rings easily surpasses it in emotion, scale, the lot. I especially like the story about Turin Turambar, the best swordsman in the history of Arda ;D. So, what do you think?

It's a tough book to read, with all that information. But it's really good though.
Anyway, you made two threads of the same topic. You have to delete the other one...

What a borefest, really...
I couldn't stand reading it. I will try to read it again, later on.
Right now I'm reading Interview With a Vampire and Frankenstein simultaneously ;D

What're you talking about? I only made one. Someone already deleted it before you returned. Anyway, there's no doubt that The Silmarillion is a good book, but with all those names, places, and other Tolkein references, you may not come out alive, lol...

I've never heard of this actually.. Is it just something that just hardcore Tolkien fans would like? I'm not that into Lord Of The Rings stuff thats why.

Probably, yeah. It's a hard read, but it's well worth it if you can follow the story.
