*Well it looks like peer pressure has finally made some sort of impact on Nintendo's corporate executives, and the results are leaking out on the advertisements Nintendo will be distributing on it's current and future merchandise. However, it will all begin with the Nintendo DS, check out the info and video on this link and you'll see what I mean... www.cube-europe.com/news.php?nid=7369Well...I always wanted Nintendo to become more mainstream, but my word...that is some of the most random and pointless sex solicitation in a gaming ad that I've ever seen. What does random shots of girls bosoms have to do with the DS? Also here's another ad that was created earlier for the DS and was speculated to be put in a European ad for the UK DS launch: So what do you think, is this the Nintendo we want to see, or should they tone it down a bit? Obviously, from the results of that ad and commercial Nintendo is listening...

I think it makes Nintendo look pathetic... Do they honestly think by using more "mature" ads, they will gain a new market... With marketing like that it can only damage Nintendo's reputation. Nintendo will always be known as the "kiddy friendly" developer. They should just deal with that and use it to its advantage...

I disagree Shadow about keeping the "wholesome" image. But I also disagree completely with Nintendo's advertising here. I agree that it makes Nintendo look pathetic. I would have instead made an ad promoting mature games, not mature related themes. If they want to sale games to gamers who are looking for a more mature experience, then advertise mature games! Nintendo really needs to find a better CEO and executive board. They just seem like chickens running around with their heads cut off.

Well if you guys thought that was awful, let out a sigh of relief as the ad and the commercial are fake. Cube-Europe mistook these fan made DS advertisements for genuine Nintendo ads. Should have known something was up with that commercial as it really didn't make any sense...
But that still doesn't change the fact that Nintendo needs to update their image, however when they do it better not be anything like the travesty that is that commercial.

Like FOX said, Nintendo need to actually make the mature games, then advertise them to create a new image. The worst thing possible is for them to try and make "universal" games seem mature. I say keep things how they are for GC, and try and improve when it comes to Revolution.

Exactly, there's really not much more to be done with Gamecube but continue to appease the Gamecube owners and entice a few new customers or old ones that may have left. However, with the Revolution Nintendo will urgently need to catch the attention of gamers of all ages. The same way the Playstation has and to an extent Nintendo's very own DS and GBA brands. If not, than it will be another gen. of Nintendo getting jerked around by X2 and PS3, but this time it may be the last.

I can only remember seeing a GC game advert once on TV, and that was when it had been launched... Then again, games arent really advertised on TV in the UK unless its around Christmas, and then its only the AAA games that make it to TV adverts.

Man thank goodness. I thought that Nintendo was getting desperate and stupid. Yeah, Nintendo needs to do something about the Revolution that will catch the attention of gamers. It is either that or sell to Microsoft. LOL

I think Nintendo could survive without selling if they fail next-gen. They still make most of their profit off the handheld market so they could survive. As for Revolution, the creator of Doom has claimed he's seen the Revolution and says he respects Nintendo's view to change the way we play games. So if thats true, theres a nod from a highly rated developer.

Yeah but that means nothing if you don't attract gamers. Most gamers don't need a new way of playing games. Just a controller and great game is all that does it.
