DBZ Sagas Evolution Reign
DBZ Sagas Evolution has been exposed by Gamespot, releasing new screenshots, an interview preview, and plenty of new videos. Credit for this obviously goes to Gamespot and to ssj7 Goku for telling us.
"Hot on the heels of last year's slick Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 for the PlayStation 2, Atari is aiming to serve up a fresh new dose of DBZ-inspired gaming. Rather than crank out another fighter, Atari has teamed up with Avalanche Software to create a new spin on the popular franchise, Dragon Ball Z: Sagas. The game is a third-person action game that takes you through Saiyan and Cell Game Sagas, essentially the first chunk of the massive DBZ storyline that has spanned decades. We had the opportunity to get a first look and demo of the game from Atari reps earlier today that had a work-in-progress version of the PlayStation 2 game.
Play as Goku and a handful of other characters as you explore the Dragon Ball Z universe in the upcoming third-person adventure Dragon Ball Z: Sagas.
Dragon Ball Z: Sagas will let you play as five characters over the course of its 19 levels: Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Trunks. Who you play as will depend on where you are in the story. For example, you'll start the game as Goku and then transition to Gohan, and so on, as the story unfolds. Best of all, the game will offer two-play co-op support for you to get your adventure on with a friend. Progressing through the levels based on the storylines will pit you against grunt enemies such as saibamen, assorted robots, and familiar faces from the series. The game will also include some new enemies that have been inspired by the show. For example, Trunks, the robots you'll fight as, are based on 'bots seen in Dr. Gero's lab. The big moments will come as you face off against the well-known villains from the series who pop up as bosses and minibosses..." FULL STORY

DBZ Business
We apologize for the inconveniences on our forums. However, some interesting issues came up: a future for gaming relating Dragon Ball, and the selling of FUNimation. We thank our affiliate DB-Unlimited for the news regarding the future of Dragon Ball Z gaming.
Future of Gaming for DBZ
"Since launching our first product together in 2002, Atari has worked closely with FUNimation to extend the Dragon Ball brand into the interactive market and with more than 7 million units sold to date, it's clear that the momentum of the Dragon Ball phenomenon shows no signs of abating," said Jim Caparro, President and Chief Executive Officer of Atari. "We have exciting plans in place to build on that momentum and usher in the next era of Dragon Ball, including products for the new wave of portable gaming devices and next-gen consoles."
The Dragon Ball brand will continue to build momentum as FUNimation and its licensees relaunch the brand. Starting in April, FUNimation will release the next movie in the Dragon Ball Z series Broly: Second Coming, as well as the Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Uncut Special editions. These Ultimate Uncut Special editions feature never-before-seen footage as well as a variety of extras including an exclusive Goku vs. Vegeta Featurette with dialogue and discussions from the voice actors, media and fans. In May following the very successful Dragon Ball GT series, Dragon Ball Z will return to broadcast. FUNimation also has plans to expand the Dragon Ball brand in the Hispanic market." - Full story
FUNimation Sold
"Navarre is acquiring the FUNimation partnership interests for a payment at closing by Navarre of approximately $100,500,000 in cash, plus its issuance of between 1,495,216 and 1,827,486 shares of Navarre common stock. These shares of Navarre common stock will be unregistered, but they will be subject to certain registration rights. Additionally, the sellers could receive up to $17,000,000 in cash to be paid over five years if FUNimation achieves certain agreed-upon financial targets during that time period. The closing of the transaction is subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions including a requirement that Navarre shall have obtained financing sufficient to enable Navarre to consummate the transaction..." - Full story
