Dodge? I thought that you were training in the art of the Samurai... Well first off, the ablity to dodge a sword comes in handy in the art of the samurai There are others way on not to get hit with a sword instead of just smashing your sword against it. And you guys did change my thread to Samurai,Swordfighting and martial artsSo yeah I try not to get hit , using my dodge in fighting.

I think that we all have established that by now... I just saw my teacher do the coolest thing. He doesn't want us to do this in tournaments, mind you, but he was doing it while sparring with another teacher from a different school. He is into K1 stuff, so he wasn't just doing kickboxing. He ended up doing back flip, and forcing his right leg down on the other guys lef shoulder. After the other dude fell, he rolled backwards, pushing himself up, hipping to his feet.... All under five seconds...

He's not my sensei. Someone tried to call him that and he said no- I am not your master. I am just someone who knows more about this than you. But I will be your mentor, teaching you my ways.... He is the sh*t..

He doesn't want to be called sensei, because it usually refers to master-apprentice relationships. He can't have an apprentice when he teaches five kids... He also doesn't want to be called that, because he is from Boston, not Japan...

I know he doesnt want to be called that, I was just saying sensei means teacher.
You dont have to be from Japan to be a sensei, or anything in martial arts...

Just go to a martial arts store....
I would probably get a wooden sword before the real thing-just to practice with.

As I have stated before, we have many fights in our school on a regular basis. Well, today, a new kid tried his hand. So he picked a fight with Kelvin, our token Chinese guy. The guy thought that just because Kelvin was Chinese he knew Kung-Fu so he told Kelvin that he also did Kung-Fu. But, Kelvin doesn't know Kung-Fu. He knows punch. So while this kid is adopting his stance Kelvin is laughing. Then the kid comes over and tries some kind of fancy kick that I vaguely remember learning. Kelvin takes it in the chest, no pain, then smacks the kid for a one-hit KO. Funny stuff.
