This is mostly for Tarugi and I, since we both have a connection on the Samurai thing, but others may join Like I was saying before , When you get stab and badly wounded , dont give up Tarugi. What you should do, and I know you will if you are a true samurai; you should train. And it doesnt matter if you train with someone or not , it matters if you TRAIN. And dont let the whole idea of you getting stab bring you down. Let it be a warning. and say to yourself. "Hey I got stab , but that doesnt mean I will again" , you saying that will boost for confidence and make you train, and the more you train the better you get. Sword is nothing like a bike , once you learn it , your good. For Swords , once you learn it...you just learn it, it doesnt mean your any good at it. Now I dont know how long you have been training but I been training since I could walk, and I'm good (not to be c*cky, thats not the way to think). Also you cant be lazy with the sword. One spilt, one flaw , one let-by can cause you the whole match or worst. Now I also dont know how you fight, but I fight in the extreme league, so I can never be lazy. I train every single day, its hard, I know. Sometimes you may just want to give up, but dont. If you really are into the way of the samurai then dont let little things bring you down. Like me , I was put down by the other students in my class since I was a female. But you know what I did...I ignore them and then when time came and I had to fought , lets just say I said at the end "Gender means nothing , fool." Maybe for you, since your american (I think ) the Japanese may bring you down , just ignore them and train and kick there @ss ,I wont put you down , it doesnt matter at all. Gender, pfft, thats nothing , race, NOTHING. Age, that means something, but not how you fight , it mean expericence. I am young, but I am since a tough chick to crack. Now on the topic of rage. Rage is good and bad. Yes it gives you enegry, but dont let it fully take over you. I learn that the hard way when I got beat by my brother for that, I learn from it, that was my frist defeat , and last. I letted the rage cloud my judgement and I under estimate him and I got stab. After that it was hard , I know...but I never and I never will give up. Giving up then , and now will only mean, I wasted my 14 years of life. And for others,, please dont make fun of it with the rumors or jokes on Samurai's. I take this serious. Thank you.

Oh sorry HieisLove I completley agree on your points .That race ,gender dont matter, and that age is based on experience. And I agree rage can be good and also have its flaws.Sometimes its just good, sometimes it has its own double edge.

And what I like also, is those who cant be a samurai for their reasons they still dream about it. Thats means to me the way of the samurai has affect and still affect many people in their daily life. My sensei (teacher) once told me "Your effort is what makes you successful. Your success is what frames your attitude. Your attitude is what sets out your life. Your life is your , let no one take that away or even crush it." , I still remember those words til today, and he told me that when I was 9. But I asked him , "What does that mean?" He thence replyed "It means what ever you want." So what I think it means to me is, My effort to become the best samurai is what makes me successful in the art. My success is what makes my attitude (A never give up attitude ) and my never give up attitude is what makes me live on, and no one can take that away. When I told him that. He then said "If only every samurai thinks that way , then everyone will be a kind hearted person like you Kyodo. Sweet, full of life, and open to any door you chose." My effort for me to be the best samurai is never ending, can go for miles if you measure it. I just wish for everyone to think the way I think. I'm carefree , outgoing, and trustful, and helpful and my sensei said dont let anyone take that away, because when they take that away , my spirit of the samurai is long gone. Tell me...What does "Your effort is what makes you successful. Your success is what frames your attitude. Your attitude is what sets out your life. Your life is your , let no one take that away or even crush it." Mean to you...And dont just copy me, speak the truth, and I will tell you what I think of it

That's a great quote.
to me it means that you make your life , that you should live it the way you want ; which means to live life to the best you can and enjoy it ; to its fulliest, and don't let anyone else change it, upset it, make it wrong, or tell you what to do .

Well you got an good idea. But for any hard working samurai , it would mean alot more. It would be a modivation, like it was for me. It made me want to change my whole point on samurai. I have to admit. When I first started , I kinda thought down on it, since people were making fun of me , I slammed myself over it, but then my sensei told me that I can be the only true samurai , I have it naturally in me , so he told me. He taught me not to care what others say about anything but to care what others think about you. If they think bad, prove them wrong, if they think good, thank them.

Swords, pfft I don't play with useless things. I spend my time on things that actually matter like guns and cars. You want to make something out of yourself? Get a 9 mm.

Well thanks for you words. I am not worried about being stabbed. That is the least of my worries. I realized that there is nothing to be afaid of but yourself. I trained for 5 hours today bc i didnt have to go to school until the afternoon. It is hard to be an american samurai but i believe my fighting spirit that lies within me comes from the past. It is hard for me to train since i barely have anytime ot do it bc i got school then i work. i am trying to set time aside to do some training. My father doesnt aprove of swords. ( my parents are devorced and i live with my father) I try to be true to my nature which my nature is a samurai. I have been training eversince i was 14 and competed since i was 16. I have won the southern division but not in the extreme league. I was about to be hailed as a prodigy but then the accident happend. The accident wasnt the stabbing but i had a coma about a year ago due to a car accident. I lost most of my skills with a sword and that didnt stop me. i kept on training even in the hospitol. I got out of the hospitol bed and started to do some push-ups, sit-ups, and some leg exerises. The nurse had to frequently drop on in to make sure i wasnt doing that and that i should be resting. The only thing that was holding me back is the physcological fear of it all. But i have gotten over it. I see swordsmanship as 80% mental and 20% physical. I have won about 25 matches and lost only 4. Well this is my soap box on this whole thing.

Read James Clavell's Shogun. Samurai's had a far from nice life. And the truth is, there are no real Samurai's left. Sad really.

If your mind is weak, you have nothing. Tell me what you think of my sensei's quote. Diesil watch what you say , a sword was born before a gun thence has the ablility to beat a gun or car, if used properly. I use my sword against a gun before...I won. Tap, there is real Samurai's , your talking to you right now. And I think Tarugi can speak the same

You'll feel differently. oh and Car Vs. Sword= Car will always win. Guaranteed. End of story. You're done.

Tap, there is real Samurai's , your talking to you right now. And I think Tarugi can speak the same Not real Samurais. There are people who try and mantain the traditions and lifestyles, good for them, keep up the good work, we need more people like that. Unfortunately, real Bushido just doesn't work in this day and age. Its a shame. Savage and cruel as the Samurai code was, it did work for Japan.

See now Tarugi i know Trains and all but kyodo you say you train every day,To be a samurai you must go through rigorouse Trainging for hours and you with school and the time you spend on the computer daily have no time to train.
Now im not saying im a samurai but i have sparred and wento class to weild a katana me and my freind isaac doit for fun every once in a while with the bamboo sparring swords,The cool thing is about a month ago he actually got a replica of the sword tom cruise used in the movie "the last samurai"
Now the point you made at the begining about being wounded or stabbed anyone who is in any martial arts knows that you never give up you fight till you cant move anymore,You fight till the death.
Now my weapon of choice is a polearm no matter how much i love swords i feel more comfterble with a weapon that i can kick ass with wound my aponent but not kill.
Ive been in many fights in the past two years becouse of middle school kids like to bully and start crap over dumb things and if its one thing i learned its always stand your ground cuz the ones that talk are usually the ones to fall. But wait thats not right...Cuz i talk mad crap and ive won(estimating here ive been in maybe 7 fights and i lost one and had one draw the rest i won) so lets say ive won 5/7 fights.
Now here is a nice quote to close my lil storytime here ^_^
" A true master paralyzes his oponent leaving him vulnerable to attack"
