It's no more gross than a man and woman making out with each other.

It's no more gross than a man and woman making out with each other. Exactly my point. I mean who cares if gay people get married like i said before they are way bigger problems in america then this.

yeah well, I'd learn to live with it if it was approved, I know this isn't something to worry too much about...but if it was my decission, I wouldn't approve it.

You can find a few lines in the Bible that refer to it being wrong for a man to have sex with another man. Some of these lines are often misinterpreted, but for a second let's assume that they aren't. So, it says that homosexuality is a sin in 1.... 2.... 3.... maybe a few more places, however the Bible goes on for thousands of lines and verses about poverty, and how those who allow it to go on are despicable. It speaks of so many other "sins" in such greater detail, with so much more importance. Judging by the emphasis that is put on it by the Bible, it can be argued that defacating or eating shrimp is a greater sin than homosexuality.
In my opinion, religion is not to blame for anti-gay sentiments. People's own insecurities, fears, and lack of experience mixed with opinions their parents have forced on them are to blame. If people simply knew more homosexuals personally, they wouldn't have the same problems.
I live in San Francisco, and contrary to popular belief there is not a gay person on every corner. Still, I've grown up in a community that has and respects gay men and women. I've known dozens and dozens, and here's the thing................
They are just normal people...
Yes, to some it seems elementary, but for others it isn't. The media stereotypes homosexuals to a sickening degree. They are pegged as being loud, slutty, disease-carrying people who go home with multiple partners every night, which is true for a small, yet visible minority, however you cannot restrict rights due to someone's orientation; just like you cannot restrict someone's rights because of race or gender. If you do, you're hurting millions of innocent and average people.
If you haven't realized it yet, there are millions of gay people in the world, and most of them lead normal, boring lives like the rest of us. Sure, go to a gay bar and you might find some pretty rowdy behavior, but then again, go to a sleazy straight bar and you'll find the same or worse. Anything that some gay people do that could be considered immoral is done even moreso by straight people, and I don't see those same straight people being stripped of their rights.

^Your right- religion doesn't have to do with all of it. But, it does have to do with a lot of it. My family as a whole is one big christian group. All they talk about is the kind of stuff that the government is trying to make illegal. They'd rather have someone die from getting shot than die by contracting aids....

gods holy church was built to apcept gays but not to respect their lifestyle, at least i think thats what it is dude, i could not have said it better. i don't hate gays or anything like that, they're people too. but that doesn't mean i have to agree with what they're doing. i think the whole'marriage' thing is being blown up. i say let them have civil unions, no ties to religion since it flares up all this contoversy.

Gays are human too. Give them the right to register, to be married. As for religion, well, I guess that is for the relevant churchs to decide. By the way, all these statements have been so true and valid. 'Cept for Outlaw's.
