A Silent Hill movie is being filmed. No cast has been released yet, but what is known is that it is being directed by Christophe Gans, written by Roger Avary and produced by Samuel Hadida. Apparently, on Avary's blog, he said that he recently flew out to Ontario for on-set script revision. The story reportedly revolves around a mother and daughter who end up in the town, but that's not really official from Avary or Gans. Or anybody. Avary has stated, though, that Silent Hill 2 is a primary influence. It should be out around 2006, possibly.
I'm a big Silent Hill fan, and I have high hopes for this movie. It's got a good crew.

Silent Hill was destined to be adapted into a movie. It has always had amazing cinematic art, but what really matters is the story. If done right, this movie will not be like the rest of videogame based movies out there.
I think it's cool if they're really basing (or at least beign influenced by) this movie on Silent Hill 2. I think it was the best of the four.

This movie has massive potential to be a real horror gem. I just hope that it has a good script and it gives out the same errie freaky atmosphere the game delivers.
