I thought I'd Start a political thread here, I know these havent worked in the past, but why stop trying. This time, lets not get upset when someone doesnt agree with some one elses views, lets not take other views people have personal nor have anything personal about this thread, and no ethnic slurs like applying a Bush fan as a red-neck or something. That being said, heres a discussion to start..........
What are your views on democracy as apposed to communism or a dictatorship?
I personally view a smart, fair and just dictator to be the best kind of government considereing the amount of incompetent people that have been elected in a democracy in the past. Democracy just wont work with an un-intelligent or un-informed public. But so far the only really effective dictator has been hitler, despite the fact that he was evil, before the war Germany was at its most prosperous time ever, and the vast majority was behind hitlers decisions. I dont want to go into great detail, but a democratic system with a good dictator, would most likely be the best type of government. Democratic system meaning corporate involvment and helping the public, and dictatorship meaning one leader without elections or a supreme court, to make decisions for the people.

I just don't like the thought of a dictatorship. Not saying it wouldn't work- it's just that, so far, we've had people like Hitler, Hussein, and Castro. I don't know how bad or well Castro is doing in governing his people right now... But, anywho- how about those gas prices?!

And those gas prices have been high for years now in Canada. For the last year, we've been at .80 - 1. a litre, thats approx. 3.75 - 4.25 a U.S. gallon. And whats worse is we drill and own more oil in Canada then the United States. It just doesnt make sence.

Over $3.75 a gallon?! And I thought that over $2.30 a gallon was bad. That is just unreal to me...

By stating a dictator would be the best option is saying the people have no choice in the matter. This only opens the doors for greed and corruption amongst the leadership. Their is a reason there has rarely been a successful fair dictator, afterall, this is not Rome. There is a reason why America is the most prosperous country, to say its government had nothing to do with it is crazy. Communism is just freaking nuts, no way.

A dictatorship could work well if the dictator was fair and just. But that kind of society is just too unstable. I don't think that leadership of a country should be put in the hands of a single man. The more democratic, the better, I think.
On a new note, which are you; left or right wing. I'm left.

I say Democraty is way better, but in some situations(where you need to respond quickly) a dictator is better. Corse he would be able to respond in min or hours where the democraty would use weeks or months

Mass goverment don't work. You can't please everyone when you try and run a whole country. Democracy is full of corruption, Communism is full of corruption, Dictatorships are full of corruption... As for what wing I am, I'm My Wing.

As for what wing I am, I'm My Wing. Without mass government, you would have an anarchy, people doin whatever they want all the time, sure it sounds allright.... till some one explodes you. I dont know what the wing thing means, by I sway from liberal to conservitive about 60 - 40

Orwell's dream was a Democratic Socialist society. That would probably be the most fair system. And no, we are not that. We are a Democratic Capitalist society. There's way more room for corruption in a capitalist political system.
And I would like to hear how SKJTapion thinks anarchy would work. I'm not saying anarchy wouldn't work, I'm just saying that wouldn't things be a bit too erratic in an anarchy society? It just seems far too utopian to actually exist in our modern world...

Tapion is way to punk to see this clearly, that much is obvious. First, he bilittles the notion of god, then one of the most influential men of the last decade, and now suggests anarchy, your out of your mind...

You are way too... I don't know, but it seems to me that your mind is locked in bias and predujice. You can't seem to understand that someone doesn't believe in and hold sacred the same things that you do. It seems that you can't accept that. Thats... disturbing. The way to give anarchy a stronger chance of working would be to size it down. Bigtime. I don't think I was clear earlier, my bad, I wasn't saying anarchy wouldwork. I would definitely prefer it over modern day options though... When you try and govern a whole country, things go crazy. Prime examples being Russia and USA. It can't be done, you can't please everyone, you can't spread things fairly.
