^Or do a better job with the cgi.
The thing is, in Hero, they didn't fly. If they flew, they wouldn't have hit the ground jumping into the air so many times.
So, all they needed was some strong wires...

Ok, these last few pages of replies make me want to vomit, you call me out on the rambo/rocky movies as an argument to my taste in cinema... I have seen more movies then anyone here, that is a fact. My taste is not limited to an genre or style. Answer me this, how was Hero not a rip off of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, which everyone screamed about being such a great movie, once again, unimpressed. As far as this movie being "brilliant," what the hell was brilliant about it, absolutely nothing. As far as artistic goes, I will give you that, it had a unique element to it that set it apart from others, which does not equal a good movie. As for the story, or plot, it was solid I thought, except for the fact that it was hard to follow, they showed numerous scenes that were absolutely unnecessary to the film. I did not think the movie sucked by any means, but I hate you liberal fiends coming on here barking about how beutiful it is because people float around (for no reason I may add) and the main character dies in the end for a larger cause. Heartwhelming can often be confused with good. Once again, just because a movie is foreign, doesn't mean its great.....!

Nobody has said the movie is good coz it's foreign or because that people fly...I paid more attention to the important stuff on the movie that I didn't even care about people "flying" or "not flying".
And you might like or dislike any movie you want...but I'll still say this movie is great...

your intitled to your opionion, but those scenes that you said were unnecessary, were in fact the whole story, Jet tried to fool the Emporer with the red one, the emporer somewhat figured it out with the blue one, the green one was the story of Brokens Swords revelation, and the white was what actually happened. In between the story's, shows what the two of them were thinking, and how they tell the stories are what changes Jet li's mind about killing the Emporer.

I just didn't think the situation called for 4 or 5 views of whats going on is all. I also didn't particularly care for the dialogue either. Your right though, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I just felt the movie was overated.

It is good because it appears to have been directed by someone who is more than just a money grubbing S.O.B. B) It was a beautiful film for so many more reasons than people were floaying about. This was a genuinely emotional story. C) I saw no scenes that were unnecessary to the movie. Where's the interest in a film that just says "this guy fooled a king he wanted dead, and changed his mind at the last minute and let him live." For Gods' sake DO YOU HAVE NO SENSE OF INTRIGUE?! D) Don't you ever dare to put the words "liberal" and "fiend" together in front of me.

The foreign movie comment was intended to be sarcastic, if you had personality, you would have picked up on it. How is this movie set apart from any other directors movie, it was a "FOREIGN FILM" which is why it was different, doesn't mean he isn't a money grubbing SOB. And who would you consider a money grubbing director? C. Sense of intrigue, do you know what that means..... First of all, the acting, dialogue, and scene setting did not convince me, you can't pass everything that doesn't make sense as "artistic." D. Give me a reason that I shouldn't.

A: Because he has demonstrated genuine emotion in this film.
C: Aren't you interested in what the characters had to say, even if it had no real bearing on the storyline?
D: Because the words "liberal" and "fiend" are oxymorons, but lets not descent into the dark world of politics.

Your right though, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I just felt the movie was overated. There were 3 views of the story... I didn't think that this movie was good, just cause it was foreign. I liked it because of the story... Not the flying around. I actually thought that it wasn't as good as I thought it would be, to tell you the truth...

Reguardless of what I think, the movie was a success.

Who knows how good their acting truly was- they were dubbed! It's not like English comes first- if we were Chinese or Mandarin, it would probably seem a lot different to us.. And, I was just messin with the whole Rocky movie thing...
