I'm not catholic so I didn't consider him my leader. But to the many catholics in the world, he was a very important figure in their lives. There's no doubt that he will be missed.
This was the only Pope any of us have ever had. And his death is a very major point in our history. Let us pay our respects to him and wish him luck on his journey.

pope john paul II was a good man. as a catholic myself, i'll miss him dearly. but even to non-catholics, everyone knew this was a good man. this is a time of mourning, but also of great joy. he's left us on earth, but he's finally at rest and with God now.

No matter who you are you have to admit that he was an incredible leader as well as a person. His life reflected his views, and he stood up for what he believed in. I know we'll all miss him.....
Edit: By the way, I'm not Catholic either

I'm not a Catholic but I do admit he was a good man. He was the first pope to step foot in a synagogue. He was the first pope to step foot in a mosque. He will probably be forever known as the pope who cared more for peace and unity than the pride of the church...

that's true. he traveled everywhere. new york, asia, third world countries, everywhere. he improved relations with jews, protestants, pretty much all religions. he was a man of the people, that's why he was loved so much. we'll never see another man like john paul II again, people like him only come around once

it is INCREDIBLE how he was never awarded with the Nobel peace prize...if he didn't try to promote peace in the world, then i don't know who did... this makes you think...

Its too bad, but then again he was cheating death for some time now. May he find eternal happiness in the arms of the lord

I'm not Catholic either (I was raised as one though), but I know that John Paul II was an amazing person, someone who looked more at the humanity of every person and situation.
From what I've read and heard about him, he was an idealist, he used to see the life in everything, and today I watched an interview with someone who knew him for many years and he told in the interview that the Pope must have been living his final ours not thinking about death...but about life...he said he would see life even in death.
Another thing I've known is that he was a poet...the Pope had said that one of his fears was that at one point, humanity would only communicate with a scientific language and would use terms that wouldn't describe the humanity in all of us, then by not using a human language, we would be unable to seem human. When asked what would be the perfect language to transmit our human side to others, he said "art".

here's to...another pope! i already said my grief on another forum. i've got nothing left lol, on tribalwar, they had a thread......... lemme take a screencap, brb Leave it to you to make the offensive post. Though that may be funny in a liberal sense, I find it pretty lame, and I have a very open sense of humor...

*I* wasn't being offensive. Did I make that thread? I was merely showing it to you.
But, I might as well remove that post.
I can't really say anything on the pope. Anything that has to do with catholics, I stay entirely away from.

It was pathetically shocking and amusing. That's the humor of Tribalwar. I've learned to stand it.
Concentrez-vous sur le Pape, s'il vous plaît.
