This is about Buu(obviously). But not the saga, the character! There has been a lot of talk about it so it comes to this:Should or shouldn't be in the movie.
AND PLEASE, think about it!Don't be purist on this! IMO, I would rather have it good or don't have it.If Buu sucks on the movie, even if it was on the series and no matter how fanatastic you can get, a bad movie is a bad movie. For all the love you can have to DBZ the worst thing that could happen is that the movie(s) is(are) made but sucks.
How the series end then? What about the saga? The fusions?Gokuh's 3º level of SSJ?Majin Vegeta?? Well, that's all relative and it's not about that.Today, we'll decied on Buu, the rest will be dealt later.

I'm undecided. While I do think that Buu is a horrible villain, I've been getting many good ideas lately for my Buu Saga script. And not too long ago, you Shinma said that you've also been getting good ideas for your Buu Saga movie. Buu can be kept I guess, I just think that whoever writes this movie has to add a lot more depth to the character to make the movie a good movie...

I'm still a little undecided, but I would definetely prefer Brolly instead of Buu. And I don't think they would do both Brolly and Buu too coz that would be making like 6 movies, if they do a movie about DB also.
Anyways, I think that if they do Brolly, hardcore fanatics wouldn't be as mad coz they're at least using one of the most memorable (if not the most) characters from the movies.
And if they use Buu but his personality is changed I think that hardcore fanatics would still complain about that. But really, who needs Buu when you can do Brolly. Just add a little more details into his background story and you'll have probably an even better character and with more depth than Frieza.

Without the Buu saga, we wouldn't have seen Vegeta change for the better. Or see Goku go SSJ3. Or see Gohan go all mystic like. If they changed Buu, I wouldn't be sad. But the stories that go into him being there are very important.

Of course Buu should be there, without Buu, Goku wouldn't turn SSJ3 (unless they made him turn SSJ3 at the Saiyan Saga... now that would be f'd up ).

Like the last three or four people to post here didn't get the question correctly. Shinma clearly stated that he wanted to know if we should take just the character of Buu away, not the saga.
Like I said in another thread, they could do a movie about Brolly where they would show a lot of stuff that happened in the Buu saga, like SSJ3 Goku, Vegeta's change, etc. And of course they would adapt it so that would put an end to the story.
It would be something fresh and different and they could adapt it so it would be the end of the DBZ story.

Without Buu the saga wouldn't be as good...
Buu brought about change in a lot of characters and to substitute Brolly for Buu would be a failure in my mind...
Keep Buu!

Well, for me, there's something that Buu gave to the series that no other villian gave to it: Humor. But after that, there's nothing for me that make me like him, and if I had to choose between Buu and Brolly, I'd definetely stay with Brolly. Even though I wouldn't mind if they still chose Buu.
The thing with Buu is: He's just a demon who has nothing to do with Goku or anyone, has not suffered any pain in his life. He just kills and doesn't know why, and barely says anything so it's like he had no actual feelings, except when he turns into Super Buu, but the rest of the time he's just there fighting with Goku and doing his crap but for no reason.
Brolly, in the other hand, is the Legendary Super Saiyan, shares a special bond with Goku by being born in the same day. His story could just be altered just a little to make him have a deeper reason for hating Goku. He could be worked into a character that has suffered incredible pain and wasn't strong enough to withstand it, thus, becoming obsessed with his hatred towards Kakarot and killing everyone who stood on his way.
Well, it's not the best explanation but you get the idea.

Well, it's not the best explanation but you get the idea. Yeah, exactly. They can still change the villain without changing the story and saga. Let's say they changed Buu and replaced him with Janemba or Brolly. Despite this change, they can still keep the things like Goten and Trunks, The Otherworld Tournament, The Kaioshins, Fusion, Super Saiya-Jin 3, and Vegeta's epiphany. The Buu Saga is a good saga, but it lacks the thing that makes every saga complete. The perfect villain. And Buu is not the perfect villain...

Well, if there is no Buu, than it wouldn't be the Buu saga, now would it? If you take out Buu, you need to take out the saga. You guys are always saying how they need to stick with the manga and tv series. If you keep with the same story as the saga, and than add Brolly to it, it would just be weird. So, they can change Buu so he doesn't look so much like a pink bouncy ball. But , IMO, it wouldn't be right to replace him with Brolly, or any other villain for that matter. If they do take out Buu, they might as well make up their own villain.
And how is he not the perfect villain? He doesn't care about the lives of others, and only seeks the destruction of everything around him. Pure evil. If he ain't the perfect villain, than fine. You tell me who is...
